KBR is seeking an Audio Producer to join NASA's audio program. KBR is seeking an audio storytelling producer to support the NASA's efforts in building audio strategy and strengthening production efforts on our podcast, NASA's Curious Universe. NASA's Curious Universe is a sound-rich narrative show that takes listeners on a journey of discovery with NASA experts in under 20 minutes. We are looking for an audio producer with boundless curiosity, a creative spirit, and a passion for sharing engaging stories with new audiences. The ideal candidate will have a portfolio that demonstrates strong audio production skills, creative approaches to storytelling, and a knack for finding and using compelling tape. The producer will leverage their strong writing and production skills to build informative and engaging story arcs for NASA's Curious Universe and other NASA audio products. The ideal applicant will have audio storytelling experience, and have experience working on a team. They will be confident in their audio mixing abilities and have creative ideas of how to tell the NASA story through sound. We are seeking an ambitious self-starter with attention to detail who is comfortable juggling multiple deliverables on deadline. A science communications background is not necessary, but curiosity is a must! The successful candidate will join a highly collaborative, energized team and will be a critical addition to NASA's growing audio program. The successful candidate will begin remotely but will be asked to relocate to the Greenbelt, Maryland area once our office returns to normal operations. Responsibilities: * Prepare scripts, including writing, research, and tape selection * Mix episodes of NASA's Curious Universe. Multi-track editing, including mixing music, archival tape, natural sound, and other elements * Assist with fact checking and guiding audio products through NASA's reviews process * Help maintain NASA's relationships with top science podcasts, public radio stations, and shows by coordinating interviews and pitching sound-rich stories * Coach scientists and engineers on the casual delivery of complex topics and ideas * Perform other duties as assigned.
