SME Physicist with Security Clearance
Overview Mayvin is currently seeking a SME Physicist to provide support to Department Homeland Security Counter Weapons of Mass Destruction. CWMD conducts, supports, and coordinates an aggressive research and development program to address significant architectural and technical challenges unresolved by current capability on the near horizon. This includes the development of break-through technologies that will have a clear and demonstrable positive impact on the ability to detect WMD threats as well as enhance the forensic examination of pre-detonation materials. These programs partner with industry, national laboratories and academia to improve performance while reducing costs and operational burdens of detectors and sensor systems and strengthen the nuclear forensics capability in technology advancement and expertise development. Must be a US Citizen Must have an active Secret Clearance Responsibilities This support requires a well-demonstrated and documented current knowledge of the concepts and principles of physics, engineering, chemistry and biology as they relate to counter-WMD sensor systems. These services include, but are not limited to, the following areas where specific current technical knowledge and experience are required: * Development of characterization and data analysis plans * Scientific and engineering modeling of sensor systems employing new and untested technologies * Technical analysis and interpretation of complex data sets generated by research and development efforts to enhance detection capabilities (eg networked sensors, improved algorithms) * Support efforts to develop and deploy an information architecture that can flexibly ingest CBRN sensor data and other information streams through a scalable cloud computing infrastructure and performs data analytics to characterize backgrounds, determine patterns, and provide domain awareness * Support efforts to develop methods that identify anomalies to support targeting and interdiction, and provides appropriate user interfaces as the local, state and Federal levels * Support efforts to enhance the forensic examination of pre-detonation materials * Scientific and technical evaluation of the analyzed results from research and development studies * Generating, editing, and interpreting scientific reports based upon technical results from CWMD research and development efforts Qualifications * Must have a BA/BS with 11 years of experience or MA/MS with 9 years of experience * Must be able to perform the following kinds of functions: Initiates, supervises, and/or develops requirements from a project's inception to conclusion for complex to extremely complex programs; Provides strategic advice, technical guidance and expertise to program and project staff; Provides detailed analysis, evaluation and recommendations for improvements, optimization development, and/or maintenance efforts for client-specific or mission critical challenges/issues; Consults with client to define need or problem supervises studies and leads surveys to collect and analyze data to provide advice and recommend solutions About Mayvin: Mayvin is a dynamic women-owned small business created out of a commitment to deliver unparalleled service to our clients.
