The candidate will be a member of the Network Assurance Team supporting a US Government customer at Ft. Meade, MD. This person will serve as a Cyber Security Watch Officer (CSWO) on the DISA GSM-O program supporting the DISA Joint Operations Center (DJOC) Network Assurance team. CSWOs are principally engaged in the triage of events, cyber incident handling, network analysis and threat detection, trend analysis, metric development, vulnerability information dissemination, and the DoD Cyber Security Service Provider (CSSP) methodology. Basic Qualifications: -Must have a DoD-8570 IAT Level 2 baseline certification (Security+ CE or equivalent) to start and must obtain CSSP-A certification within 180 days of start date. -Possess an active TS/SCI security clearance. -CND experience (Protect, Detect, Respond and Sustain) within a Computer Incident Response organization. -Demonstrated commitment to training, self-study, and maintaining proficiency in the technical cyber security domain. -Demonstrated understanding of the life cycle of network threats, attacks, attack vectors and methods of exploitation with an understanding of intelligence driven defense and/or Cyber Kill Chain methodology. -Leadership experience in a 24x7 environment. -Willing to perform shift work. Desired Skills: - In depth understanding of APT TTPs -Knowledge of OSINT and closed source cyber intel -Demonstrated understanding of the life cycle of network threats, attacks, attack vectors, and methods of exploitation with an understanding of intrusion set Tactics, Techniques, and Procedures. -Advanced understanding of TCP/IP, common networking ports and protocols, traffic flow, system administration, OSI model, defense-in-depth, and common security elements. -Demonstrated hands-on experience analyzing high volumes of logs, network data (eg Netflow, Full Packet Capture), and other artifacts in support of incident investigations. -In-depth knowledge of architecture, engineering, and operations of at least one enterprise SIEM platform (eg Nitro/McAfee Enterprise Security Manager, ArcSight, Splunk). -Experience and proficiency with any of the following: Anti-Virus, HIPS, IDS/IPS, Full Packet Capture, Host-Based Forensics, Network Forensics. -Experience with malware analysis concepts and methods. -UNIX/LINUX command line experience. -Scripting and programming experience. -Motivated self-starter with strong written and verbal communications skills, and the ability to create complex technical reports on analytic findings.
