For additional information about our agency please: Click HereResponsibilities This Transportation Security Specialist position is located in the Policy, Planning and Engagement (PPE), Transportation Security Administration (TSA), Department of Homeland Security (DHS). Duties include but are not limited to:Planning and carries out complex and comprehensive analyses involving foreign transportation security programs, plans, and initiatives and reviewing foreign airport Assessment program reports for the regulatory status of foreign locations.Serving as a project manager or team leader in planning and conducting broad policy studies to evaluate complex transportation security policies, programs, and related technical matters to address transportation industry problems.Preparing in-depth briefing papers, memoranda, and other documents for senior leadership in TSA and the Department of Homeland Security (DHS) that address transportation security initiatives.Analyzing trends, identifies problems and those factors most likely to impact operating costs, profitability, and continued compliance with regulatory requirements.Providing technical guidance to the Director and Deputy Director and key management officials regarding the full range of transportation security laws, rules, regulations, policies, and procedures for a wide variety of complex issues. QualificationsTo qualify for the SV-J Pay Band(equivalent to GS-14), you must have one year of specialized experience at the SV-I or GS-13 in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private sector. Specialized experience is defined as experience that has equipped you with the knowledge, skills and abilities to successfully perform the duties of the position. Specialized experience is defined as:Preparing and maintaining reports and presentations for senior federal officials on Transportation security programs; andConducting analyses of transportation security regulatory programs, plans, and initiatives; andProviding technical advice or guidance on international transportation security laws, policies and regulations.Note: For positions requiring positive education requirements, or if you are using education to meet all or part of the qualification requirements, you MUST submit a copy of your transcripts or an itemized list of college courses from an accredited college or university, which includes equivalent information from the transcript (course title, semester/quarter hours, and grade/degree earned) in your resume.
