Business Group Highlights Defense The Defense group supports the Department of Defense (DoD) mission to keep our homeland and its citizens safe. We provide solutions to improve the Nation's defense by providing software, systems engineering, IT, training and logistics and fleet management solutions. Responsibilities Conducts research in design, development, testing and utilization of electronic data processing software. Designs, develops, documents, tests and debugs applications software and systems that contain logical and mathematical solutions. Conducts multidisciplinary research and collaborates with equipment designers and/or hardware engineers in the planning, design, development, and utilization of electronic data processing systems for product and commercial software. Determines computer user needs; analyzes system capabilities to resolve problems on program intent, output requirements, input data acquisition, programming techniques and controls; prepares operating instructions; designs and develops compilers and assemblers, utility programs, and operating systems. Ensures software standards are met. Analyzes user needs and software requirements to determine feasibility of design within time and cost constraints. Confers with systems analysts, engineers, programmers and others to design system and to obtain information on project limitations and capabilities, performance requirements and interfaces. Designs, develops and modifies software systems, using scientific analysis and mathematical models to predict and measure outcomes and consequences of design. Coordinates software system installations and monitors equipment functioning to ensure specifications are met. Qualifications Over 10 years of experience and a MA/MS degree. Typically works on high-visibility or mission critical aspects of a given program and performs all functional duties independently. May oversee the efforts of less senior staff and/or be responsible for the efforts of all staff assigned to a specific job. Current TS/SCI Clearance. Qualifications: Bachelor s degree in software engineering, computer science, or information technology Experience in software development or programming experience Extensive experience with current technology platforms or tools such as: Java, Python, C++ and other programming languages, HTML5, CSS3 and CMSs and a working knowledge of SQL Experience with Agile methodology such as SCRUM or Kanban is a strength Desired qualifications: Analytical, problem solving mindset Ability to learn new technologies quickly Effective Time Management across multiple tasks and priorities Ability to follow processes Strong documentation skills Good communications skills both written and verbal About Perspecta What matters to our nation, is what matters to us.
