Sr. Manager- Business Development
Title:Sr. Manager- Business DevelopmentThe NAVAIR BD/ Capture Manager will be responsible for leading all aspects of capture primarily for new business opportunities in support of the Acquisition Engineering Division. The successful candidate will have experience targeting the NAVAIR market, identifying and qualifying new business opportunities and leading a BD and Ops team through the capture process. This process consists of identifying the need and benefits of teaming partners including shaping of the RFP with the customer, creating customer intimacy and identifying strengths and weaknesses of the organization. The NAVAIR BD/ Capture Manager is also responsible for developing competitive intelligence, gap analysis and bid team structuring; development of the value proposition, win strategy; business case presentation; contributions to proposal product development, color reviews, submission, final proposal revisions, hand-off for implementation, lessons learned continuous improvement, new business budgeting and pipeline reviews in pursuit of NAVAIR opportunities.This position reports to the Director of Business Development for the Acquisition Engineering Division in the Engineering Unit of KBR. Travel anticipated to be 25% of the successful candidate's schedule.This position requires the ability to work closely with other Business Development Managers, Operations Directors, line managers and the proposal center to understand customer requirements, lead development of preliminary solutions, and for positioning solutions with the customer. Candidates must demonstrate the capability to manage multiple capture efforts in varying stages of development/execution and possess an in-depth understanding of capture processes with an in-depth understanding of proposal and capture procedures . Candidates must have either seven or more years of military, or government service with qualifications in a major warfare area or have seven years or more of DoD contractor BD experience; providing acquisition expertise in support of NAVAIR missions. The candidate must have at least four years of demonstrated success as a Capture Manager with responsibility for winning DoD single awards, with a minimum value of $40M, and Multiple Award Contracts Indefinite Delivery/Indefinite Quantity task orders with a minimum value of $100M.Education/Experience* A Bachelor's Degree is required in a Business or Technical Discipline.* A Master's Degree in a Business Discipline is preferred.* 18 years or more experience that include 12+ years of industry experience and 6+ years of experience in business developmentThe highly successful candidate must have:* Business development experience supporting NAVAIR customers* (7) years or more prior military experience* Prior military experience in a position of authority within NAVAIR* (4) years experience as a Capture ManagerCandidate must have:* Experience supporting a diverse set of DoD customers.* Experience using Sales Force or a similar CRM system.* Effective oral and written communication skills coupled with the ability to establish and maintain productive customer and industry participant networks are essential.* Efficiency in the use of Microsoft (Word, PowerPoint, and Excel) is required.* Ability to multi-task, organize, and prioritize multiple on-going projectsClearance: A Secret clearance is required.
