Responsibilities

This position is located in the Office of Inspector General (OIG), Office of Management (OM), Business Analysis and Results Directorate (BAR). The Business Analysis and Results Directorate exists to advance efficiency, accountability, and performance through problem prevention and cooperative, innovative solutions for financial operational management. BAR achieves this by maximizing OIG return on investment while ensuring OIG processes and actions are cost-effective and transparent. The BAR provides timely, accurate, and essential customer driven services to assist managers in various decision-making, tracking, and reporting requirements. The BAR promotes the efficient and effective use of OIG resources by being responsible stewards of taxpayer dollars and provides exceptional and timely customer service to our customers and stakeholders.


Responsibilities
The ideal candidate will perform the following duties:
  • Plans and conducts reviews and assessments of OM functions, responsibilities, and goals by collecting and analyzing data to respond to OIG and Agency requirements;
  • Plans and participates in audit follow-up, FMFIA internal control reviews, policy review and development, and process improvement;
  • Participates in meetings with management officials to present findings, explain the significance of conclusions, justify recommendations and answer questions on projects;
  • Serves as a backup Funds Control Officer;
  • Provides general support and assistance to other staff in OM involved in the planning and implementation of a variety of projects as assigned.

This is a Public Trust Position. Employment in this position requires a background investigation. Qualifications

IF THERE IS NO EDUCATION REQUIREMENT, HR SPECIALIST REMOVES "Must meet education requirements" from the above KEY REQUIREMENTS and "In addition to the basic education requirement" from the statement below.

In addition to the mandatory education requirement, all applicants must have 52 weeks of specialized experience equivalent to at least the next lower grade level in the Federal Service.

Specialized experience is experience that has equipped the candidate with the particular knowledge, skills, and abilities to perform successfully the duties of the position.

Qualifying specialized experience must demonstrate the following:

GS-13: 1) Conducts and reports on complex audit and evaluations of programs, systems, and operations in accordance with applicable guidance; 2) Formulates, develops and implements policies; 3) Assists with internal control, enterprise risk management, and management assessment activities; 4) Assists with strategic and annual planning; and 5) Assists with operational performance reporting.
