Job Announcement
Manages the reception area receiving phone calls, deliveries, and visitors for a law office. Provides support to attorneys, paralegals and administrative assistants. Opens, scans and date stamps all incoming mail and distributes all mail and faxes using Office software system. Performs factual research including internet searches for basic investigative information for cases. Performs queries and research in case management system. Ensures time-sensitive legal documents are picked up for delivery by couriers. Oversees archiving of closed files. Provides a high level of customer service to all who contact this law office, including the County's administrators, employees, and the public. Serves as agency courier by driving to and from the Fairfax County Courts on a daily basis to file and retrieve legal documents.
The assigned functional areas of this position are: General Office Administration, Receptionist/public contact, Information systems, and/or Customer Service.
Employment Standards
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
Any combination of education, experience and training equivalent to high school graduation and two years of experience providing administrative support in the assigned functional area(s).
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
Prior experience working in a legal environment. Demonstrated proficiency in the use of Microsoft Office computer software, especially Word, Excel, Outlook, and PowerPoint. Ability to multi-task.
CERTIFICATES AND LICENSES REQUIRED:
•Valid driver's license.
NECESSARY SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS:
The appointee to this position will be required to complete a criminal background check, and driver's license check to the satisfaction of the employer.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
Duties are generally sedentary performed in a frequently stressful, fast-paced office environment. Must be able to lift and move 10 pound boxes. All duties may be performed with or without reasonable accommodations.

Panel interview; may include exercise.
