Responsibilities

This position is located in the Department of Justice (DOJ), Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA), Operational Support Division, Office of Information Systems (SI), Sterling, VA.
  • Evaluates, develops, and implements software using system programming languages and command language including web based applications and systems.
  • Coordinates the construction, modification, and development of SharePoint solutions and acts as a liaison between DEA stakeholders and the developers.
  • Assist with planning of future web application expansion, enhancements, communications and training.
  • Prepares training, conferences, and events regarding SharePoint enterprises features and functionalities.
  • Schedules meetings, prepares announcements and broadcasts for new and upcoming features available to the DEA environment.
  • Writes program code, compiles, debugs, tests, documents, and implements programs for new and existing systems.

Qualifications

All applicants must have 52 weeks of specialized experience equivalent to at least the next lower grade level in the Federal Service.

Specialized experience is experience that has equipped the candidate with the particular knowledge, skills, and abilities to perform successfully the duties of the position.

SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE:
At the GS-12:
is experience that has equipped the applicant with the particular knowledge, skills, and abilities to perform successfully the duties of the position, and that is typically in or related to the work of the position to be filled. GS-12: applicant Specialized Experience at the GS-12 is: Must have one (1) year of specialized experience equivalent to at least the GS-11 Federal grade level performing the following duties; assisting in developing application software, modifying existing web application services, and using high-level programming and database management systems languages; and writing program codes, compiles, debugs, tests, documents and implementing programs for new and existing systems.

At the GS-13 is experience that has equipped the applicant with the particular knowledge, skills, and abilities to perform successfully the duties of the position, and that is typically in or related to the work of the position to be filled. Specialized Experience at the GS-13 is: Must have one (1) year of specialized experience equivalent to at least the GS-12 Federal grade level performing the following duties; evaluating, designing and developing applications software. Designs SharePoint solutions, performs requirements analysis, and customer liaison.

In addition to the above specialized experience, applicants must also meet the IT-Related proficiency level for all four of the competencies listed below:

Time-In-Grade Requirement: Applicants who are current Federal employees and have held a GS grade any time in the past 52 weeks must also meet time-in-grade requirements by the closing date of this announcement. For a GS-12 position you must have served 52 weeks at the GS-11 level or equivalent. The grade may have been in any occupation, but must have been held in the Federal service. For a GS-13 position you must have served 52 weeks at the GS-12 level or equivalent. The grade may have been in any occupation, but must have been held in the Federal service. An SF-50 that shows your time-in-grade eligibility must be submitted with your application materials. If the most recent SF-50 has an effective date within the past year, it may not clearly demonstrate you possess one-year time-in-grade, as required by the announcement. In this instance, you must provide an additional SF-50 that clearly demonstrates one-year time-in-grade.
