Responsibilities
The Office of the Chief Administrative Officer (CAO) provides operations support services and business solutions to the community of 10,000 House Members, Officers and staff. The CAO organization comprises more than 650 technical and administrative staff working in a variety of areas, including information technology, finance, budget management, human resources, payroll, child care, food and vending, procurement, logistics and administrative counsel.
As a leader within the Asset Management directorate, you will directly contribute to the ongoing modernization of House technology and business processes while completing various aspects of daily operations. Successful candidates will have experience with fixed asset management, financial audits, internal controls, inventories, automated accounting systems, customer service, staff development, and communication to diverse audiences.
The position has day-to-day supervisory/managerial responsibilities.
Primary Duties/Responsibilities:
• Manage the Admin and Compliance team's Fixed Asset tasks and Inventory Controls
• Record assets accurately to comply with Federal and Generally Accepted Accounting Principles
• Complete month-end close of PeopleSoft Asset Management module
• Supervise the ongoing preparation of asset and inventory reports
• Analyze and reconcile asset management system and general ledger accounts
• Validate the accuracy of accounting records through physical inventories and reconciliations
• Maintain a system of controls to mitigate the potential for lost, damaged, and stolen items
• Measure financial and operational performance data
• Implement industry best practices to innovate fixed asset management processes
• Safeguard and ensure proper stewardship over all House capital and accountable assets
• Lead staff in delivering excellent customer service to all House members and staff

Qualifications
• Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance required
• Minimum 5 years of Fixed Asset and/or Inventory Management experience
• Minimum 5 years of experience managing teams of at least 5 personnel
• Ability to manage cross-functional or interdisciplinary employee teams
• Working knowledge of Federal and Generally Accepted Accounting Principles
• Strong knowledge of internal controls and financial management
• Experience working with various automated accounting systems, PeopleSoft preferred
• Solid organizational, analytical, and problem-solving skills
• Effective verbal and written communication skills
• Ability to manage multiple high-priority tasks at once
• Willing to take on new opportunities and openness to change
• Must meet all applicable U.S. government employment eligibility requirements
Continued employment is contingent upon satisfactorily completing a criminal history records check (or other applicable security clearance) and a pre-employment drug-test (pre-identified position only).
