Job Description

Arc XP ( www.arcxp.com ) is a cloud-based digital experience platform that helps enterprise companies, retail brands and media and entertainment organizations create and distribute content, drive digital commerce, and deliver powerful multichannel experiences. A division of The Washington Post, Arc XP has powered the digital transformation of customers across the globe, currently serving more than 1,500 sites in 24 countries that reach more than 1.5 billion unique visitors monthly.

As an increasing number of large digital publishers move their critical business processes to Arc XP, we are in need of experienced Product Leaders to help revolutionize the way we work with our customers and guide the next generation of Arc PS Product Owners in developing their skills.

The Product Owner Lead is part of our Professional Services organization and will work closely with project teams within Professional Services as well as Account Management, Platform Engineering and Product Management organizations to onboard new customers onto Arc's SaaS digital experience platform.

What you'll do in this role:
  • Co-own the product ownership methodology on the Professional Services team and continuously evolve it according to the latest industry best practices.
  • Work closely with customer stakeholders - including business leads, journalists, developers, designers, advertising and analytics managers - to understand their business goals and guide them towards the solutions that best meet their needs.
  • Lead multiple customer project teams as the Lead Product Owner, outlining the business solution and providing vision and direction to the Agile development team as well as stakeholders throughout the project.
  • Work closely with the Delivery Lead on projects to ensure work is aligned with overall program delivery timeline.
  • Directly manage 2-5 Product Owners, helping them to expand their skills and knowledge.
  • Become a subject-matter expert on Arc products and best practices, in order to advise customers on how to best take advantage of Arc's extensive suite of tools.
  • Keep abreast of Agile/Scrum best practices and new trends.

The ideal candidate:
  • You're a product nerd who wants to work with a cutting edge SaaS platform that is constantly evolving.
  • You've worked on large-scale web development projects, and have an understanding of how multiple work-streams come together to make the final product.
  • You strive to understand the why before defining the how.
  • You have a passion for working directly with people to solve real problems.
  • You have a natural inclination towards mentorship and the growth of others.
  • You encourage and support team growth to reach new goals for speed and quality.
  • You have experience with specialized themes of web integrations, like advertising, analytics, and SEO, or a drive to learn about them.
  • You enjoy working closely with development teams. You have a sense of when to ask technical leads for input on ways to reduce development time, or negotiate scope.
  • You want to collaborate with a talented and supportive team focused on delivering business value to customers.
  • You excel in a fast-paced environment where you are constantly learning and evolving.
  • You can hold the big picture in your head and drive others towards a vision while ensuring the details are being worked out.

Required Qualifications
  • At least 5 years of experience consulting with external customers on web product solutions.
  • At least 5 years experience managing direct reports.
  • Experience working within an agile software development framework, with proven experience delivering solutions to customers within that framework.

Preferred Qualifications
  • Bachelors degree or higher.

Up to 50% travel may be required.
