Job Description

The Product Analyst, Core UX plays a critical role in deepening engagement through our core surfaces (Homepage, Articles, Apps). This person will be responsible for exceptional product execution and rapid experimentation that result in increased click-through rates, improved conversion rates and high quality engagement for non-subscribers and subscribers.

In this role, you will partner with product managers to take a data-driven approach to product development and execution. You will work in an Agile development environment and help the product team define and document feature requirements, execute against release plans, and proactively remove obstacles to deliver on product and business strategies. In collaboration with the product team and stakeholders, you will develop recommendations for evolving the Core UX experience based on a deep understanding of performance data, user behavior, and the competitive landscape.

What you'll do
  • You collaborate with cross-functional teams and stakeholders to capture requirements, maintain clear and accurate feature documentation, and create user stories.
  • You participate in daily Scrum ceremonies and proactively identify and help mitigate release blockers.
  • You audit the product experience on an ongoing basis for technical and UX opportunities/improvements.
  • You partner with product managers, engineering, and analytics to ensure product performance is properly monitored and that dashes and alerts are accurate and actionable.
  • You use data and research to generate actionable insights and recommend opportunities to evolve the product to meet user needs.


Requirements

Minimum qualifications
  • 1+ years of experience in product development, market research, analytics or related field
  • Ability to think critically and solve problems in a fast-paced environment while maintaining strong attention to detail
  • Ability to work well across disciplines and build partnerships that result in better product outcomes
  • Exceptional communication, writing, and presentation skills
  • Experience using quantitative and qualitative data to identify user needs and inform solutions


Preferred qualifications
  • Working knowledge of industry standard software such as Microsoft Excel, Google Docs, Jira, Confluence
  • Experience collaborating with large, remote teams using communication tools such as Slack and Zoom
  • Strong interest in digital media and passion for building the news products of the future
