Job Summary: 
We have an immediate opening for a senior research associate to join a multidisciplinary research team working on a variety of health research projects in our public health and epidemiology practice. This position is located at the client site in Rockville. 

Job Responsibilities: 
Working with members of a multidisciplinary team to support cancer surveillance projects
•    Creating schemas, mapping treatment coding systems, and providing content support and management for cancer coding projects
•    Reporting and improving cancer progress measures such as cause-specific survival and temporal trends
•    Conducting cancer surveillance studies using key metrics such as incidence, survival, and mortality
•    Predicting the future cancer incidence and mortality burden
•    Presenting results at meetings held by specialized scientific organizations; Writing high-quality manuscripts for scientific publication
•    Managing international working groups and leading collaborative projects
•    Recommending improvements to SEER*Prep and SEER*Stat software to facilitate the use of these tools in less-resourced settings

Basic Qualifications:
•    A Master's degree in public health or health science related field.
•    At least 10 years' of experience in a health related field with 2 years' of relevant experience working with NCI Surveillance, Epidemiology and End Results (SEER) Program data and tools.
•    Certified Tumor Registrar (CTR) credential.

Preferred Qualifications: 
•    Experience in medical or public health and health informatics. 
•    Experience with statistical software such as SAS. 

Qualified candidates must have strong computer skills, excellent written and oral communication skills; organizational skills; the ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously; be detail-oriented; and work well in a fast-paced team environment.
