MASON INVESTMENT ADVISORY SERVICES, INC. Financial Operations Assistant Reston, Virginia We are a national investment advisory firm with offices in Virginia and California serving high net worth individuals, institutional clients, and financial planning clients. We are looking for a financial operations assistant to become part of a team in our operations department for 30 hours per week. The ideal candidate possesses strong analytical skills, exceptional follow-through, well-organized, and provides consistency in performing procedures and policies. Associates degree required; Bachelor's degree preferred and at least 2 years of working experience in operations of a financial firm, particularly an investment advisory firm or broker dealer. Job responsibilities include: Processing all paperwork needed for investment accounts. Interfacing with the custodians to open new accounts, update account information, and service accounts. Trade processing of mutual funds and equities for client accounts. Processing of checks, wires and journals. Maintaining client account forms and other paperwork required. Handling requests for transfers of funds in and out of accounts. Responding to staff inquiries. Working with the staff to complete paperwork processing. •Ensuring compliance requirements are implemented and followed. •Administrative tasks as assigned include, but are not limited to: filing, scanning, answering phones, and calendar and database management. Troubleshooting of issues related to above. Soft Skills: Possesses an attitude of openness. Willing to take action and seek positive change. Learn from self and others. Holds a high interest in receiving feedback. Qualifications: Financial services experience preferred. Comfortable with Microsoft applications and data entry. Excellent oral and written communication skills. Demonstrated organizational skills, ability to multi task, and time management skills with ability to set priorities and meet deadlines. Strong attention to detail with the ability to work with a high degree of accuracy. Demonstrated ability to maintain effective working relationships with staff. Possess flexibility and camaraderie to work in a fast-paced team environment. Ability to shift gears with priorities when dealing with an assertive and fast paced manager.
