Our processes are lightweight, which allows our teams to innovate quickly to bring new ideas to market. New features and products are deployed to our customer base every day.

We are currently looking for a hands-on Engineering Lead to grow three agile teams of engineers who build JavaScript based full-stack applications in a serverless AWS environment. You and your team will work on PageBuilder Editor, Arc's WYSIWYG curation tool which allows Arc customers to quickly build and curate React.js based news websites on top of Arc's SaaS hosted PageBuilder Fusion rendering engine. In addition to Editor, you will oversee the development of new content personalization and testing tools. In this role you will oversee the development efforts of the Editor team and will collaborate closely with the PageBuilder Fusion Engine development team and other Arc product teams to enable innovative news experiences for a variety of news, radio and broadcast companies worldwide.

**This could be a 100% remote in the US for the right candidate.

  • Lead team members in designing state of the art WYSIWYG curation tools
  • Direct work to ensure active participation in team agile activities such as story grooming, planning work backlog, work estimation, sprint planning, retros, demos, etc.
  • Remove ambiguity for both oneself and team members.
  • Develop engineers to evolve and grow their skills by sharing knowledge about new software languages, tools and applications.
  • Lead full stack teams of software engineers that design, implement, instrument, test, deploy and support their own code.
  • Provide expertise to guide the technical implementation of multiple projects, with up to 30% of time spent on Architecture, Code Review and Incident Management
  • Plan and execute successful complex technical projects in Agile process
  • Coach team members on a daily basis, establishing goals and conducting performance reviews.
  • Understand and interpret client needs and design solutions for how to achieve them.
  • Ensure adequate workload balance to ensure maximum team performance.
  • Partner with Product Owners to maintain a roadmap and project plan that meets the demands of our clients.
  • Assist the manager in turning roadmaps into staffing needs and a hiring strategy.
  • Implement technical strategies that ensures future success of your products and teams.
  • Contribute to design and architecture of systems that span multiple teams and/or products.


Minimum Qualifications
  • BA/BS in Computer Science or related technical field or equivalent practical experience.
  • 5+ years of experience building highly-scalable customer facing applications
  • 2+ years of experience managing engineers
  • Proficiency in at least one programming language, preferably JavaScript
  • Experience working with HTML, CSS and JavaScript, preferably within the React JavaScript framework.
  • Experience architecting and implementing scalable SaaS or Cloud based applications.
  • Experience leading the implementation of technical products and mentoring junior and senior developers.
  • Exceptional written and oral communication skills

Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience building web applications on AWS and AWS Lambda.
  • Experience with end-to-end testing frameworks.
  • Experience with vendor management
