Lecturer in Marketing (Non-Tenure Track, F0741A1)

Old Dominion University is seeking to fill one Lecturer position beginning July 25, 2021. Responsibilities include (1) teaching marketing courses (regular classroom, online, and distance learning settings); (2) service to the department and the university (e.g., advising students and student clubs/organizations, community engagement, assessment).

Old Dominion University is located in the Norfolk - Virginia Beach metropolitan area (in the greater Hampton Roads), with a population of about 1.5 million. The area is rich in recreational and cultural activities. Washington, DC is only three hours away, and Norfolk has one of the best natural harbors on the East Coast. Old Dominion University is an internationally-oriented, state-supported institution of over 24,000 diverse students. The Strome College of Business offers AACSB-accredited undergraduate, MBA, and Ph.D. degrees (including a Ph.D. degree in Marketing). The Department of Marketing consists of a collegial group of faculty who are championing exciting initiatives to increase research impact and engagement with the business community.

Required Qualifications: Candidates must have a master’s degree in marketing, sales or a related field from a recognized institution (AACSB accredited business school for a business degree). A minimum of 2 years of substantive full-time work experience in marketing or sales. The candidates must possess strong interpersonal and communication skills and should be able or willing to teach a variety of marketing courses.

Preferred Qualifications: Preference will be given to candidates with prior teaching / training experience and more extensive work experience. Ability and/or willingness to engage with the business community is also a plus.
