Journal Production Coordinator

Downtown nonprofit association near Metro seeks a Journal Production Coordinator to manage workflow for the American Journal of Public Health. Direct article traffic in online manuscript tracking system. Assist Editors, authors, peer reviewers, and freelancers with submission, peer review, and production processes and answer their questions. Check manuscripts for technical requirements. Post final version articles online. Assist with setting and managing journal meetings and take minutes.

Bachelor’s degree in related field. One year of editorial experience, preferably in traditional scholarly publishing environment. Excellent written and oral communication skills, ability to work independently, meet deadlines, and deal tactfully and professionally with authors and editors. Macintosh OS X experience, knowledge of AMA style, familiarity with online tracking systems, and HTML experience helpful. Excellent benefits, and commitment to diversity.

Position is based in downtown DC near several metro stations.  Hours: 35 hours a week, full-time, Mon- Fri. (daytime).  Number of openings: 1.
