The Lourie Center seeks to hire a Social Worker who will embrace our mission to extend God's care through the ministry of physical, mental and spiritual healing.

The Lourie Center for Children's Social & Emotional Wellness is a private, non-profit agency with a mission to improve the social and emotional health of young children and their families through prevention, early intervention, education, research and training. The Lourie Center has four core programs serving children birth through age 12 and their families: Head Start, The Lourie Center School, The Therapeutic Nursery Program and Parent-Child Clinical Services

The Therapeutic Nursery Program (TNP), at the Lourie Center, is seeking a social worker to provide daily support to the children and families enrolled in the program. The TNP is a specialized early childhood education program focused on children's social and emotional development. The TNP integrates educational and therapeutic intervention to foster appropriate intellectual, social, emotional, and physical growth.

As a Social Worker you will:
•Support children in the classroom who may be in crisis, utilizing Nonviolent Crisis Prevention
•Prepare and conduct weekly social-emotional development group therapy, in the classroom, to TNP children
•Design and implement classroom-based psycho therapeutic services to enhance the quality of the parent-child attachment and to promote the socio-emotional and developmental growth of young children and their families
•Provide direct clinical services to families and children, including assessments and interventions
•Provide assessment of TNP children and consult with TNP director or TNP psychiatrist for clinical emergencies to provide appropriate treatment intervention and coordination with professionals and TNP parents/guardians
•Conduct the Monthly Parent Coffee group to provide psycho-education and support to TNP parents
•Access Protected Health Information on a routine basis
•Comply with all privacy standards of the Lourie Center that include HIPAA, COMAR and other state and federal regulations as written in the Privacy Manual
•Maintain clinical charts, progress notes in compliance with policies and procedures

Qualifications Include:
•Master's degree in social work is required
•Licensed or license-eligible at the LMSW level in Maryland.
•Some post-master's experience in providing individual, family and group psychotherapy is desirable
•Experience in working with high-risk families and young children
•Active BLS CPR card
