Summary

About the Position: Serves as Director, Logistics Support Officer and expert logistical data and systems analyst and advisor to the Director of the Integrated Logistics Support Center (ILSC), and has the working title Chief, Logistics Support Branch of the AMLS Lifecycle Management Command (LCMC).

Responsibilities

  • Analyzes the organization's logistical performance based on information based on information supplied by customers, performance metrics, review and analysis, and audits by outside agencies.
  • Provides guidance and assistance in the management of a wide variety of the projects, studies, and action correspondence, keeping informed of critical developments and providing expert advice on non-technical aspects of the mission requirements.
  • Oversees the development, evaluation, control, and interpretation of situational and statistical analyses of management equipment readiness from a Soldier perspective ranging from Theater Commander to Brigade Combat Teams
  • Oversees and directs the processing of clinical reviews of unit substitution requests utilizing a team of clinical support professionals; analyzes and provides clinical recommendations to the purchasing divisions.
  • Manages and controls the Logistics Support Office's transportation cell.
  • Directs program through subordinate supervisors who guide and control a workforce of approximately 15 employees engaged in professional, technical and administrative work.
  • Oversees the development, evaluation and control of the Business Support Office (BSO), including its stake in the Theater Enterprise Wide Logistics System (TEWLS) Customer Center of Excellence, and integration with future ERP platforms.

  • This is a Critical Acquisition Position. You must be a member of the Acquisition Corps.
  • Selectee must sign a 3 year service agreement.

In order to qualify, you must meet the experience requirements described below. Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community; student; social). You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience which includes: Manages overall planning, analysis and implementation of medical material activities/programs, performance reporting and monitoring; identification and analysis of potential problem and development of recommended solutions for improving procedures, programs, and/or systems as they relate to headquarters and subordinate organizations operational performance; analyze performance, policies and processes, to make recommendations and implement optimal command-wide industrial operations and/or logistics initiatives.
This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-13).

Time in Grade Requirement: Applicants who have held a General Schedule (GS) position within the last 52 weeks must have 52 weeks of Federal service at the next lower grade or equivalent (GS-13).

Applicants must meet basic eligibility requirements such as minimum qualifications, and other regulatory requirements by the closing date of the announcement.

This is an Army Acquisition, Logistics, and Technology Workforce position. Selectees must meet the position requirements for certification at Level 3 in {enter Program} within 24 months of entrance on duty. Due to the impact of the Coronavirus, individuals with entrance of duty dates prior to April 1, 2021 will have an additional 12 months from the date of Entrance on Duty (EOD) up to a total of 36 months.

Acquisition Corps (AAC) membership is required prior to appointment to a Critical Acquisition Position (CAP), except as noted in the paragraph below.

Acquisition Corp Members - Submit either your Acquisition Corps Membership Certificate; membership letter from the Agency's Director- Acquisition Career Management, Acquisition Career Record Brief (ACRB) or other agency equivalent document.

Non-Acquisition Corps Members - Submit your transcripts.

Baccalaureate degree from an accredited educational institution and ONE of the following is required:

24 semester credit hours from among the following disciplines: accounting, business, finance, law, contracts, purchasing, economics, industrial management, marketing, quantitative methods, and organization and management.

24 semester credit hours in the person's career field and 12 semester credit hours in the disciplines listed above. Credit hours within the person's career field may also satisfy the requirement for part or all of the 12 credit hours in the disciplines listed above. The same hours may be used to meet both requirements.

24 semester credit hours in the person's career field and training equivalent (American Council on Education recommended credits) to 12 semester credit hours in the disciplines listed above.

Selectees must sign an AAC written tenure agreement to remain in the Federal service in this position for at least three years.
