The Instructional Systems DesignerTechnologist will partner with faculty, staff, and other members of the IT team to enhance the virtual teaching and learning environment and assist with the integration of IT resources and tools into the teaching and learning experiences. The Instructional Systems DesignerTechnologist provides consultation, support, and training to users of online and instructional technology-based systems, utilizing their knowledge and understanding of a wide variety of learning technologies is necessary to effectively support the diverse range of usersrsquo technical and pedagogical needs. Responsibilities Forge collaborative and professional working relationships with discipline experts and other members of the development team (Subject Matter Experts, Learning Designers, Media Developers, Graphic Designers, Web Developers, Technologists, etc.), to manage environments within MS Teams for faculty staff and students Ensure the instructional quality of coursesprojects and assist with vision and strategic planning and evaluation of systemsapplications in support of new delivery formats, models, and practices. Develop training materials for instructional technology solutions and emerging technologies related to online and hybrid learning Resolve problems based on existing documentation, training, resources, etc. Solicit relevant information from faculty to communicate potential solutions Administer multimedia and graphic design projects. These could include video production, graphicinfographic creation, web-based authoring tools such as Storyline or Articulate, and others as assigned Perform complex technical instructional and administrative support in an instructional setting Provide technical support and assistance to faculty in the use of new andor emerging technologies, both in terms of training and in real time Knowledge and Required Skills Must understand classroom technologies including networking, projectors and other media equipment typically found in networked classrooms. Experience supporting instructional development projects for digital learning environments (onlineblended). Experience in instructionallearning design for micro-learning andor competency-based education preferred. Strong organizational, analytical, and project management skills to concurrently manage multiple assigned tasksprojects and organize, coordinate, and direct team activities and results. Solid understanding of Learning Theory and Instructional Design Theory. Fluency in using Microsoft 365 (M365)applications on either Windows or Mac computers, as well as navigating the web and using web-based tools to facilitate work, learning, collaboration, productivity, research, etc. Excellent interpersonal, oral, and written communication skills with the ability to build relationships and influence at all levels. Education and Work Experience Bachelor's Degree or a combination of education and experience which consists of 4 years of progressive experience andor education in lieu of a Bachelorrsquos Degree 5+ years of professional work experience working with clientscustomers on complex modern learning projects. Demonstrated professional experience in designing and developing teaching and learning materials, Experience working with other information technology professionals on joint projects required. Thorough knowledge and experience with MS Teams for Education Experience working with e-Learning authoring tools Captivate, Articulate, Storyline, Edge. Experience with image editing software Photoshop, Illustrator (desired) Experience with audio and video codecs and image file formats (desired) Experience creating motion text graphics (desired) Experience with data visualization tools (desired) Experience working with faculty and students in a higher education institution (desired) Experience with the development of e-learning tools.
