Description Job Description: The Government Health and Safety Solutions Operation is seeking a Sr Windows Systems Administrator with AWS experience in Bethesda, MD. Responsibilities: Provide Windows systems administration and support for Web Application Servers, designing automation and productivity tools to support the Production environment and maintain 24/7 availability of mission-critical systems Work with developers to test, deploy, troubleshoot and provide technical assistance with ColdFusion, IIS and .NET based web applications and Microsoft SQL databases Utilize Ansible and PowerShell to develop scripts/playbooks to address routine OS and application issues Support multiple AWS environments, EC2 and AMI creation, security configurations, troubleshooting and configuration management Perform vulnerability scanning, analyze security scans and conduct vulnerability remediations and Java updates Participate in the monthly on-call rotation to support the production environment 24/7/365 Baseline & organize technical documentation, such as scripts, performance metrics, etc. Provide incident response for Windows servers, performing diagnosis, troubleshooting and resolution Manage software licenses and usage Assist in developing and documenting processes and procedures for ongoing management of the Windows server environments Education: Bachelor's degree or equivalent work experience (4 additional years of experience required in lieu of degree) MCSA Certification is a plus Relevant AWS certification preferred (AWS SysOps Administrator) Qualifications 10+ years of experience administering Windows Server 2012/2016/2019 and advanced knowledge of Active Directory, Windows Group Policy and related Microsoft technologies 5+ years of supporting Web Application Servers running ColdFusion, IIS or .NET 3+ years of in-depth AWS infrastructure management, and excellent understanding of AWS architecture and best practices 5+ years of experience with VMware virtualization environment 5+ years of experience with IIS, supporting ColdFusion and .NET based applications and SQL Server 3+ years of experience with automation using Ansible, Puppet, CloudFormation or similar tools. Strong scripting skills with PowerShell required Demonstrated experience with IBM BigFix for patch management and vulnerability scanning Must have excellent communications skills Excellent problem solving and analytical skills with the ability to effectively troubleshoot, resolve, or escalate problems.
