Bench Scientist - Level 3 USBasic qualifications:* Bachelor's degree in virology, molecular biology, cell biology or other vaccinology related discipline* At least 5 years of experience in research and development, preferably in an industrial, academic or government laboratory settings* Hands-on and in-depth understanding of different protein expression platforms, cell transfection and selection in transient and stable expression systems* Hands-on experience with common bioanalytical assay execution (FACS, ELISA, SDS-PAGE, Western blot, PCR assays).Preferred qualifications:* MSc degree and PhD degree* Excellent communication skills, ability to effectively collaborate within multiple project workstreams* Ability to efficiently manage uncertainty, changes in priorities and timelines* Hands-on aseptic mammalian cell culture experiences* Hands-on cell clone isolation and single cell cloning, FACS analysis and sorting* Molecular biology; plasmid and viral vector design and optimization,qPCR/ ddPCR, wet lab next generation sequencing* Experience with Crispr/Cas or other genomic editing techniques background would be an advantage.* Fluency in EnglishJob Purpose* Key supporting member of a fluidic organization (Early development & SAM Center of Excellence), consist of cell and molecular biologists, analytical scientists, chemists and process engineering scientists for Mammalian cell and RNA based platform development (Mainly CHO) as well as supporting early development of a variety of vaccine products.*Key Responsibilities* Applies detailed fundamental knowledge of own specialty area or scientific discipline into solving process development problems* Solves complex problems through analytical thinking; identifies and prioritizes solutions using knowledge gained through formal education, experience and sound judgment* Fully understands the rationale and hypotheses for experimental designs* Works with minimal supervision in a matrix environment and effectively manages multiple project activities* Rapidly acquires theoretical and operational knowledge of laboratory equipment in own discipline.
