Job Summary: The Accounts Payable Associate is responsible for the timely and accurate entry and auditing of payables for Allegis Corporate Services and its customers. The Associate will use their understanding of the payable lifecycle to process and audit payments for invoices, expense reports, and purchasing cards. A strong understanding of internal controls for payables and Allegis corporate policies will be critical to an Associate s success. Associates are accountable for ensuring that all payments are approved, supported and finally audited. The Associate will seek out opportunities to improve and strengthen the AP process and provide best in class customer service to both our internal customers and our vendors. Essential Functions: Work closely with customers to ensure invoices are paid timely and accurately Communicate regularly with stakeholders and teammates to identify and address opportunities to improve level of service and streamline processes Determine appropriate GL accounts for invoice coding Navigate Peoplesoft, Ariba and Concur and other systems as required to process payments, research and resolve inquiries and discrepancies Seek out opportunities to learn and strengthen AP knowledge and expertise Follow and understand company and departmental policies and procedures in processing invoices; supporting strong internal controls and auditing Call out any concerns or questions related to payment processing and fraud mitigation Minimum Education and/or Experience: HS Degree or equivalent required 1 or more years of accounts payable or accounting experience Skills/Abilities: Proficiency with Microsoft Office, with an emphasis on Microsoft Excel Experience with PeopleSoft software preferred Ability to quickly learn Payable and PO systems Strong written and verbal communication skills Professional presence Ability to work independently; while maintaining a strong desire and support of team success Ability to stay organized and focused in a fast-paced environment Desire to learn and willingness to ask questions Detail-oriented; strong data entry skills General tax knowledge Core Competencies: Customer service Organizational skills Building relationships Business acumen Self-motivated/self-starter Leading self and others
