An international consulting firm located in Arlington, is recruiting for a Sr. Software Engineer who will work as part of an agile team, supporting our client, the Office of the Chief Information Officer. The agile teams develop website products that use data and visualizations designed to improve awareness, availability, access, and capacity to transform the way our client collects, analyzes, and uses data to ensure development outcomes are supported by evidence. The Sr. Software Engineer will serve in a dual technical and management role to support the full life cycle of implementing a website solution including requirements gathering, development, testing, deployment, and overall technical program management to meet Agency and end-user needs. The Sr. Software Engineer will use project management skills to estimate and track work, host coordination and status meetings, and manage risks and issues. The Sr. Software Engineer will support and manage projects varying from requirements gathering only, through design and development of new websites. The majority of completed projects are hosted in cloud-based (Azure and AWS) environments. Skills & Experience Bachelor's Degree in a technical discipline (preferred in Computer or Information Science or related) Demonstrated experience developing web applications with strong knowledge of at least one or more programming languages Demonstrated experience with JavaScript frameworks such as React, jQuery, and Node Demonstrated experience working with web, micro, and/or ESB services Demonstrated experience with relational and non-structured databases Demonstrated experience with relevant project management Strong leadership skills to effectively manage projects Strong analytical and problem-solving skills What You Will Be Doing Tech Breakdown 30% Front End 70% Back End Daily Responsibilities Collaborate with Data Architects and other Software Engineers to develop highly interactive web applications based upon the requirements Participate as Scrum Master for one of the development teams Collaborate to document the application's architecture and design and contribute to the technical architecture and present ideas for improvements Help manage the application DevSecOps pipeline and its components Develop automated testing scripts for use and troubleshoot and debug performance issues within the web applications Follow DevSecOps approval guidelines to integrate and deploy changes to the applications Understand and fully support client's SDLC processes, artifacts, and governance phase gates Assist with capturing project objectives, scope and developing plans and schedules to support these objectives Lead, monitor, and motivate different teams across each project and interact with staff at all levels Analyze, plan, and develop project procedures as needed to ensure coordination and communication amongst project teams and client teams Define the roles and responsibilities along with various stakeholders for each project Participate in the allocation of staff and other resources needed to accomplish or achieve project goals Maintain and manage project plans, schedule, risk and issue logs, meeting minutes, and communicate project status reports The Offer Competitive Salary: Up to $140,000/hour, DOE You will receive the following benefits: Medical & Dental Insurance Health Savings Account (HSA) 401(k) Paid Sick Time Leave The candidate must be a US citizen to qualify for the required US government security clearance for this project.
