ASEC IncDescription: ASEC is currently seeking for a Systems Engineer to support Tactical Combat Training Systems Increment II (TCTS II). This employee's assigned work requires originality and judgment in the independent evaluation, selection, and substantial adaptation and modification of standard techniques, procedures, and criteria. This individual is recognized as fully competent in all conventional aspects of the functional areas of assignment and, as such, requires the demonstrated ability to create concepts and products. The employee receives direct supervision and guidance primarily on novel or controversial problems or questions and must make independent technical decisions on details of work covered by precedents.This individual must plan, schedule, and coordinate detailed phases of the engineering work as part of the TCTS II development, production and delivery to the Fleet. He/she devises new approaches to problems encountered and, as such, performs work which requires conventional engineering practices and which includes a variety of complex features such as conflicting design requirements, unsuitability of standard materials or equipment, and difficult coordination requirements. The assigned work requires a broad knowledge of precedents in the specialty area and a good knowledge of principles and practices of related specialties.. Requirements: Education and Experience:A Bachelors degree in Engineering or an Applied Science, required2 years of relevant experience to include management, test and instructor experience, desiredDoD Acquisition experience, desiredo Defense Acquisition Workforce Improvement Act (DAWIA) Engineering Certification, desiredRequired Clearance:This position is subject to a government security investigation and must meet eligibility requirements for access to classified information.Skills and Qualifications:Ability to communicate with people from various organizations, representing the organization to customers, the public, government, and other external sourcesAbility to work with a team or group Provide information to supervisors, co-workers, and subordinates by communicating by telephone, in written form, e-mail, or in person Use logic and reasoning to identify the strengths and weaknesses of alternative solutions, conclusions or approaches to problemsIdentify complex problems and reviewing related information to develop and evaluate options and implement solutionsAnalyze information and evaluating results to choose the best solution and solve problems Tasks/Responsibilities:Directs the development of hardware and software requirements, following approved development and review processeso Supports Common Air Combat Maneuvering Instrumentation training solution for 4th/5th Generation USN, USMC and USAF platforms, fixed and rotary wing aircraft and surface ships.o Supports encrypted, real-time bi-directional data between air and ground unitsParticipates in engineering reviews of all hardware and software related CDRLsActively participates in meetings relating to System Engineering Technical Reviews (SETR), System Requirements Reviews (SRR), System Functional Reviews (SFR) Preliminary Design Reviews (PDR), Critical Design Reviews (CDR) Production Readiness Reviews (PRR) and Functional Configuration Audits (FCA)Conducts vendor level SDRL reviews for the completion of hardware and software requirements Utilizes Fleet experience and Engineering experience to provide technical input to software developers during software development phaseProvides NAVAIR support for Small Business Innovation Research (SBIR) new hardware development contractsInterfaces with the TCTS II Integrated Product Support TeamPerforms technical reviews of Operator Manuals Provides Operational Mission SME input to MPRA upgrades; software and hardware, including cross domain solutions Performs engineering review of technical portions of proposals and coordinates with Cost department during contract negotiationsCoordinates with Systems Security Engineering teams to ensure system software complies with security requirements of NIAP and NSAo Supports NSA Type 1 Encryption and Four-Channel Multi-Level Security (MLS)Provides SME input for software compatibility and interchangeabilityo Supports TCTS II growth path to full Live, Virtual and Constructive (LVC) capability and upgradable with Open Systems Architecture and Future Airborne Capabilities Environment (FACE)Additional duties may be required by the customerOther Requirements: Requires occasional travel.We recruit, employ, train, compensate, and promote the most qualified persons for employment without regard to race, color, religion, sex, national origin, ancestry, age, marital status, sexual orientation, gender identity and expression, disability, veteran status, genetic information, or any other status protected by law.
