ROLE SDET LOCATION Rockville, MD (working remote) ROLE OVERVIEW Apex Systems has an immediate opening for a mid-level Java DeveloperSDET. The position is on a long-term contract basis, with chance to become a permanent employee if desired. The successful candidate will work in a fast paced environment, and help develop and test various applications. Candidates must have strong development background (Java, SQL), as well as a good knowledge of application test methodologies. QUALIFICATIONS Bachelor'sMaster's Degree in a technical field such as Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or related discipline 5+ years of demonstrable hands on Core Java developmentOOP experience Strong SQL understanding, back-end testing, for relational database design Experience building automated test scripts (API layer Testing) Demonstrable knowledge of application testing methodologiestools Experience working with JUnit, XML, JSON, and REST web services. Experience building Performance Test suite in Java (or Gatling) Testing mindset, proficient in preparing test scenarios based on Black box and White box testing principles Experience using AWS EC2, EMR, S3, Lambda, RDS is preferred Experience using Jenkins or other continuous integration build tools Ability to use GITBit Bucket, JIRA, Confluence, similar software project management tools. JavaScript and testing frameworks (ProtractorCypress) familiarity is a plus Excellent verbal and written communication skills RESPONSIBILITIES Participate in the design, implementation, and testing of distributed systems in an agile environment. Working throughout all phases of the SDLC, specific testing experience should include the following Write complex SQL queries for relational database design testing Ability to analyze and linearize algorithms, use data structures correctly, development and programming in Java J2EE Complete research activities for new features and enhancements and provide the corresponding proof of concepts with demo applications. Using AWS EC2, EMR, S3, Lambda, RDS Creating tickets and Tasks. Looking for impediments and generating the acceptance criteria. Testing system modifications to prepare for implementation and applying integration, functional, regression, and end-to-end testing Developingtesting REST services using tools such as RestAssured, Selenium, Cucumber Execution of test plans, scenarios, scripts, or procedures Rigorous application of testing standards like UNIT testing, Regression testing, and Integration testing at all product development levels. Preparing test scenarios based on Black box and White box testing principles Regular On-call duties, production support, and application Maintenance.
