The Washington Post is seeking a Digital Marketing Specialist to join our subscriptions growth marketing team. The ideal candidate will have strong experience running and optimizing marketing campaigns, building internal relationships and working with outside partners.

This is a hybrid role requiring the core capabilities of media strategy, project management and creative production, all rooted in digital marketing. To be successful, this position requires attention to detail, an eye for news readers' behaviors, and knowing which platforms and behaviors to activate in order to deliver authentic and engaging experiences. Our team is looking for scrappy people who are excited to think about news content differently.

Responsibilities include:
  • Develop digital marketing strategies and create clear plans to achieve lead generation and app acquisition goals
  • Work closely with our newsletter products and their respective audiences to discover opportunities for growth
  • Work closely with Washington Post App product team to come up with unique value proposition to effectively bring the app to market
  • Continuously measure, optimize and analyze ad campaigns, identifying actionable opportunities (targeting, optimization, creative direction, etc.) to improve performance and scale
  • Clearly communicate strategy, performance, and KPI trends to internal stakeholders and create automated reporting based on multi-platform analytics
  • Collaborate with multiple stakeholders to build out cohesive marketing plans for new Washington Post features and product launches


Requirements include:
  • A bachelor's degree in marketing or a related discipline
  • 2-3 years experience working in social and digital marketing or advertising
  • Experience with campaign management, reporting and analysis
  • Experience using Google Analytics or mobile measurement partners like AppsFlyer or Branch
  • Experience evaluating creative materials and messaging based on strategic objectives and KPIs
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks and efficiently manage their own time as part of virtual teams
  • A passion for and understanding of news, The Washington Post brand, and our readers
