Kelly Science & Clinical has an immediate opportunity available for a Clinical Lab Manager to support a fast- paced laboratory in Manassas, Virginia. We are currently looking for a Laboratory Manager with at least 3 years of clinical lab testing and leadership experience. We will consider a Lead MT or Lead MLT for this role with recent clinical, hospital or industry lab experience. Excellent opportunity to work with a prestigious organization commitment to research ! Work Hours: Weekend Coverage Job Details; The Medical Laboratory Manager will oversee technical personnel daily with COVID-19 testing, also serve as the primary technical and administrative point of contact for COVID-19 testing staff Provide technical support and leadership of testing and/or research-related activities, general research administrative and technical support to the co-directors, researchers, and staff; and ensures compliance with applicable CAP/CLIA accreditation regulations and federal, state, and local laws Requirements; Knowledge of laboratory mathematics and statistics sufficient to establish quality controls, troubleshoot procedures and equipment, calculate and correlate test results, and set up and implement new procedures. Knowledge and understanding of recognized reference standards, medicolegal requirements, regulatory and accrediting agency requirements, and pertinent statutes sufficient to use such knowledge in performing/monitoring diagnostic tests. Demonstrated knowledge of quality control and quality assurance of clinical diagnostic testing. Management, or administrative knowledge and skill sufficient to provide advisory, reviewing, inspecting, education and training, or problem-solving services (as a "troubleshooter," specialist, or coordinator) on specific problems, projects, programs, or functions. Ability to work in a regulated laboratory environment wearing personnel protective equipment for an 8 hour work day/shift. Demonstrated experience in molecular biology and qRT-PCR. Experience in staff scheduling and maintaining reagent inventory. Ability to communicate effectively in oral and written English. Ability to performing complex tests on biological specimens. Ability to accurately and precisely use manual pipettes for pipetting in/out of 384 well plates. Ability to analyze test results and making inferences based upon statistical data and contextual references. transcript evaluation verifying equivalency to a US baccalaureate degree from a regionally accredited college/university PREFERRED Strong organizational skills and attention to detail. Excellent interpersonal communication skills with a diverse group of internal and external stakeholders. Ability to effectively navigate complex situations.
