Senior Principal Software Engineer Location: Springfield, VA Raytheon Technologies is hiring a Senior Principal Software Engineer. The successful candidate will fulfill the following roles and responsibilities: * Serve as the Agile Scrum Master for a team of 4 developers * Assess software development requirements and decomposes the requirements into tasks to be assigned to the NODC development team * Manages the workoff of all software development tasks and mediates between development and systems integration tasks * Creates JIRA tickets and assigns to developers * Manages the content and workoff of tasks in each Sprint * Presents status at all Sprint Reviews and Technical Management Reviews * Manages the installation of software fixes into dev/test and operations * Conducts Daily Scrums and Peer Reviews * Writes new maintenance SOPs for the Tier 2 Ops team (in coordination with the Systems Lead) * Serve as the Engineering Lead for the contract and primary technical interface to our government customer (NGA/IPD) and key stakeholders * Briefs technical status at quarterly management reviews * Conducts tri-weekly Sprint Reviews with our government POC * Assesses new applications/capabilities for integration into NODC * Serves as the Engineering Lead for the contract, and primary SME for the developers, Tier 2 Ops team, trainers, and security engineer * Works with the Systems Lead and Tier 2 Ops team on all Tier 3 issues * Serves as the primary technical liaison to other external contract teams (ITEMS-UFS, ITEMS-DCS, ASP developers, vendors (BAE Systems, IBM) * Leads all new application integration activities * Meets with external developer of the new application and assesses what's required for integrating that capability on NODC * Assesses the VM and storage resources required for the new application * Manages the installation and configuration of the new application * Develops monthly and quarterly CDRLs (contractual documentation) describing software development and systems integration activities. * Serves as the primary technical POC in our weekly ODC IPT forums, and answers any questions on the NODC system as a whole * Primary technical liaison to our security engineer for any security-related questions/concerns/tasks * Technical SME for the Tier 2 ops team, training team, and security engineers Required Skills and Experience: * Must have and maintain a current active Top Secret/SCI (CI Poly) clearance * Bachelor's degree in Software Engineering, Computer Science, Mathematics, Physics, or any IT related degree plus 10 years of experience or Master's degree plus 8 years of experience in a computer engineering discipline * Previous experience as an Agile Scrum Master * Hands-on experience with GEOINT applications and imagery exploitation tools * Experience and familiarity with integrating COTS/GOTS software solutions in an operational environment * Hands-on experience in defining and implementing IT requirements in a mission critical operational environment * Broad knowledge of the interrelationship of ISP and ASP from an engineering perspective * Experience in implementing ASP segments in a virtualized environment * Knowledge of communications, imagery delivery systems, GEOINT cataloging, discovery, and retrieval as well as Intelligence Surveillance & Reconnaissance (ISR) systems is required Desired Skills: * Hands-on experience with geospatial visualization technologies including OpenLayers, Google Earth client and KML development, and ArcMap is desired. * Expertise in geospatial server technology including ArcGIS Server and Oracle Spatial is also desired. Clearance Requirement: * Active Top Secret/SCI clearance required Required Education: * Bachelor's degree in Software Engineering, Computer Science, Mathematics, Physics, or any IT related degree plus 10 years of experience or Master's degree plus 8 years of experience in a computer engineering discipline.
