Summary

  • This position is located in the Associate Chief Information Officer Infrastructure & Operations , Deputy Assistant Secretary Information System and Chief Information Officer, Assistant Secretary for Management/Chief Financial Officer, Departmental Offices, Department of the Treasury. The employee provides leadership and expert technical advice on developing and implementing policies, programs, and procedures to ensure the security and reliability of Info systems throughout the Organization.

Responsibilities

As a Supervisory IT Specialist (INFOSEC) , you will:
  • Serve as a subject matter expert on information technology issues related to security for telecommunications, data, voice, and video.
  • Serve as subject matter expert for security engineering and architecture in enterprise implementations of wide area, local area, wireless, voice and video networks.
  • Serve as advisor to the Directors within Infrastructure & Operations regarding infrastructure cybersecurity policy for the Department of the Treasury and its Bureaus and organizational units.
  • Manage a staff of security specialists performing duties on multiple projects and programs within the Department.
  • Act as the primary liaison for the liaison for the Director, Enterprise Infrastructure Cybersecurity with other entities in the information security community.

Qualifications

You must meet the following requirements by the closing date of this announcement.

You must have one year of specialized experience at a level of difficulty and responsibility equivalent to the GS-14 grade level in the Federal service. Specialized experience for this position is defined as experience:
Developing, defining, managing and documenting IT projects; AND
Using project management software to develop and manage in-depth IT projects plans; AND
Applying Federal information systems security protocols to integrate information systems security with other security disciplines; AND
Developing, implementing and interpreting metrics for the evaluation of IT program effectiveness and efficiency.

In addition to meeting specialized experience, applicants must also show proficiency in 1) attention to detail, 2) customer service, 3) oral communication, and 4) problem solving.

CONDITIONS OF EMPLOYMENT:
- A one year probationary period may be required.
