Enterprise Services Risk, Principal Associate Risk Manager

As a Principal Associate in Capital One's Enterprise Services (ES) Risk organization, you will apply your analytical and delivery skills to our highest profile risk management programs, having responsibility for helping the organization identify, manage, and mitigate key risks that may inhibit the Company from achieving its strategic objectives. The team plays a key role in assessing, analyzing, and reporting risks and related information for Capital One executive leadership and our Board of Directors. ES Risk professionals are experienced, well-trained, and progressive individuals that operate within a highly collaborative team environment to deliver value-added risk services to our business partners. You will partner across ES Risk, with peers and senior leaders across the first, second, and third lines of defense, as well as lines of business to drive change in order to better manage the Company's risk in an open, collaborative environment where new ideas and solutions are both welcomed and rewarded. The candidate will be a highly-motivated risk management professional with excellent analytical, planning, collaboration, and communication skills.

Primarily project-based work that will need to leverage horizontal support, senior management and business partners. Leads other associates, when necessary, and ensures best practices are executed by the team.

Responsibilities

Reporting
  • Actively participates in team-oriented efforts
  • Coordinating work between multiple areas and working on multiple projects simultaneously; leveraging/influencing business partners to drive results
  • Support the development of enhanced risk reporting and analysis using data and technology and ensure alignment with user requirements
  • Enhance reporting tools, including risk reporting mechanisms and key risk indicators
  • Build well-managed data solutions, tools, and capabilities to enable self-service frameworks for data consumers

Business Intelligence and Analytics
  • Focus on identifying new opportunities for process enhancements, elevated reporting including data analytics, creation of metrics and automation opportunities.
  • Ability to leverage data from various sources and perform analytics to present key messages
  • Responsibilities include collaborating with process owners to assess various risk reporting and analytics needs. The role will focus on data analytics across Enterprise Services.
  • Partner with the business to provide consultancy and translate the business needs to design and develop tools, techniques, metrics, and dashboards for insights and data visualization.

Data Management
  • Work collaboratively with appropriate teams to manage data
  • Build and execute tools for data governance to monitor and report on data quality and perform quality assurance


Our ideal candidate will have:
  • Strong desire and experience with data in various forms and analytical abilities
  • Interest in data science and data visualization tools and technologies


Basic Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's Degree or military experience
  • At least 2 years project or program management experience
  • At least 2 years of experience supporting internal business clients
  • At least 3 years Risk Management or Compliance experience


Preferred Qualifications:
  • At least 2 years of experience working with reporting tools
  • At least 1 year of experience working with and demonstrating knowledge of data governance, data quality management concepts and data quality tools
  • Strong communication, both written and verbal
  • Strong relationship building skills, customer focus and ability to collaborate across teams to deliver
