Manager, Cyber Controls Governance Lead

As a Cyber Controls Governance Lead in Capital One's Cyber organization, you will apply your risk management and internal controls skills to the company's Cyber organization. You will partner across Technology, Enterprise Services Risk, and Cyber teams to develop and support best-in-class internal controls in a manner that supports innovation and protects our customers, shareholders, and associates.

As part of Capital One's Cyber Controls Program, you will collaborate with fellow Cyber organization team members, first line partners, and second line partners to establish a cyber internal controls governance function that sets the tone for internal controls within Cyber. The Controls Governance Lead will lead a team that organizes, equips, trains, and supports control owners throughout the lifecycle of a control.

Cyber Controls Governance Leads are experienced and progressive individuals that operate within a highly collaborative team environment to drive proactive internal controls for cyber security. You will have a high level of exposure across the Cyber organization, including other first and second line risk partners. Proficiency in the lifecycle of internal controls (ideally technology controls) and an understanding of the Capital One Risk Management Framework are important for success in this role. The successful candidate will have experience working with executive audiences, control testing, control design, and supporting adult learners.

Responsibilities:
  • Implementing a Cyber Control Governance function as part of the Cyber Controls Program
  • Managing a small team of cyber internal control professionals to document guidance and teach control owners best practices
  • Continuously improving cyber internal controls Governance reports
  • Create a "risk positive" culture within the organization
  • Build successful relationships across the enterprise to understand the impact of how cyber internal controls mitigate risk


Basic Qualifications:
  • High School Diploma, GED, or equivalent certification
  • At least 5 years of risk management experience
  • At least 1 year of project management experience


Preferred Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's Degree
  • People and team management experience
  • Interest in pursuing or certified in cyber risk management or AWS Security
  • 2+ years of experience in governance
  • 1+ years of experience with cloud environments
  • 1+ years of experience in an agile or scrum environment
