Brand Creative Director

About the Role

Capital One Spark Business (our small business team) is seeking a visionary Creative Director to lead and manage our McLean Virginia based Brand Creative Teams. The Brand Creative Team is responsible for supporting a variety of customer segments and products within varied digital and traditional channels, so this position will have a significant influence on managing the teams responsible for delivering key marketing, product and services creative in our Capital One Brand tone & personality within the broader marketing & product teams across multiple channels.

We're looking for a leader that has intimate knowledge of industry best practices, strong digital & Traditional background andthe ability to quickly identify, address and incorporate emerging trends into strategic development are essential, as well as an ability to proactively overcome adversity and obstacles. The ideal candidate would be an effective team leader with an ability to comfortably present comprehensive concepts to leadership and decision makers.

Your Responsibilities
  • Contributes to preliminary strategy formation for each new project (Digital & Print).
  • Reviews and approves new creative proposals (Briefs).
  • Craft project resourcing estimates and work with project management on implementation. (Scope/Schedules)
  • Leads team to identify and solve marketing problems from a creative perspective. (Collaboration)
  • Organizes and leads creative reviews & presentations within department. (Presentations)
  • Recommends creative testing where appropriate. (Best Practices)
  • Manage creative talent including a mix of full-time associates & contractors (Art Directors, Copywriters) and agencies.
  • Can accommodate and is comfortable with travel for in-person meetings as necessary (approximately 10% of the time) generally between Richmond and McLean, VA and only when safe.


Basic Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree or military experience
  • Up to 5 years of experience leading creative teams
  • Creative portfolio that includes produced work for large, integrated marketing campaigns.


Preferred Qualifications
  • 5 or more years of experience as a Creative Director
  • Up to 5 years of digital or mobile campaign experience at an Advertising Agency, Studio Agency or Corporate in house creative team.
