FUNCTION: The Director of Behavioral Health is responsible for management of substance abuse and mental health service delivery for clients enrolled in Dayspring Village Residential and IOP Programs. She/he is responsible for oversight of treatment programs to improve and enhance client personal substance abuse treatment status as well as their awareness and practice of preventive mental health care. In addition, s/he is responsible for working with the treatment and housing program staff on issues of program planning and evaluation. RESPONSIBLITIES: Plans, coordinates and manages program services to ensure a coordinated continuum of services for clients with a history of substance abuse and mental illness. Assists to develop and implement the model program. To provide individual and group prevention and intervention services to clients enrolled in Dayspring Programs' Residential and Intensive Outpatient Program. Coordinates a collaborative program, working with community groups, partner agencies and families. Hires and supervises Dayspring Mental Health Counselor, Additions Counselor, Community Health and Wellness Nurse program staff with supervision from Executive Director. Is responsible for scheduling and conducting case management meetings, supervisory conferences, evaluating staff, providing staff training, and development. Ensures that Medicaid reporting requirements are met; coordinates reporting, confirms accuracy of reports. Coordinates statistical reporting for necessary funding source(s). Ensures that required monitoring is done. Ensures that state certification requirements are met, coordinates reporting, confirms accuracy of reports. Coordinates referral systems; works with appropriate agencies; advises staff on difficult problems; locates resources in the community for services as needed for clients and their families. Recruits volunteers/students/interns with an interest and expertise in activities propriety to Dayspring. Assigns the supervision the activities of volunteers/students/interns to appropriate staff. Interprets the Dayspring Programs, Inc., purpose, policies, and program to the staff, the referring organizations, and the community, both orally and through written reports and publicity; may represent the Dayspring Programs, Inc. in professional and community groups. Maintain all documentation and monthly reporting forms as required by state certification. Attend and participate in staff meetings as required. Assist to evaluate and monitor all services given to clients in order to determine the accessibility and effectiveness of the service for the clients. Perform other tasks as required. RELATIONSHIP: Accountable to the Executive Director. Supervises Dayspring Residential Program and IOP staff. Participates as an active team member with the Dayspring staff. QUALIFICATIONS: Candidates must have a minimum degree of Masters of Science in Social Work and have a current and valid LCSW-C or LCPC licensure and/or appropriate licensing credentials to meet accreditation requirements Candidates must also have previous experience or specific training in substance abuse and mental health. 1-3 years of experience and/or graduate preparation in either addictions or mental health field is preferred. REQUIREMENTS: Ability to plan and organize effectively; to work under pressure; to plan work to avoid rushes and slack times. Ability to communicate and to work cooperatively with staff, members, volunteers and the public, keeping channels of communication open, and using consultation, coordination and clearance appropriately. Ability to organize and transmit information clearly, both in writing and through personal contact, including the ability to train others in using Dayspring Programs, Inc. procedures and forms. Ability to work in sensitive situations and to maintain confidentiality. Ability and willingness to participate in available job-related study and training which may involve occasional overnight travel away from home. Must be able to work occasional evenings and weekends.
