Thiscustomer is responsible for designing, building, and operating nationalsecurity-related systems based in space, in the air, and on the ground. SAIC has anopening for a Space/Ground Senior Systems Engineer to provide Systems Engineering andTechnical Assistance (SETA) services to an IC customer. The customerorganization we support provides the enterprise architecting, analysis, andsystems engineering solutions that determine the current and future nationalspace systems. Responsibilitiesinclude but are not limited to: Workingacross multiple Directorates and Offices to identify and define future spacecapability needsFrequentinteraction with government, SETA, FFRDC, and external stakeholdersIdentifyingand defining future space capability needsIdentifyingkey architecture and system level tradesDevelopingConcepts of Operations (CONOPS) for new capabilities and coordinating themacross the affected organizationsDevelopingenterprise, system, functional, performance, and interface requirements Supportingresiliency activities/initiatives on behalf of the customer Managethe Request for Change (RFC) process as it relates to updating requirementbaselines Preparingbriefings for senior decision makersQualifications Bachelor's degree in STEM (science, technical, engineering, math) or related discipline with at least 14 years of relevant experience OR in lieu of degree years of experience are acceptableActive TS/SCI clearance with polygraphProficient knowledge of satellite communications systemsProficient knowledge of ground terminal developmentProven experience in requirements development and definition activities to include stakeholder engagement and customer needs elicitationProven experience in core systems engineering and analysis disciplines and processesWorking knowledge of enterprise architectures and associated DoDAF viewsDemonstrated ability to work in a fast paced, dynamic, and energetic environmentStrong oral and written communication skillsDesired Skills:Advanced degree in STEM (science, technical, engineering, math) or related disciplinePrior experience in satellite communications systemsExperience with IC customer's RFC process and the Engineering Review Board processWorking knowledge of bandwidth efficient modulation schemesSystems Tool Kit (STK) certificationExperience in Rhapsody and SysML applicationsPrior US military and/or IC customer experienceSAIC is a premier technology integrator solving our nation's modernization and readiness challenges.
