The role of the Applications Technical Specialist serving as a data analyst is to provide data analysis and data management support within the data management team in the CIOrsquos office for various projects and business needs for multiple special education data systems. This is a highly skilled position and familiarity with educational data and policies will be a plus. This position will also require the resource to develop and maintain databases for reporting framework and storage of data. The Data Analyst shall have knowledge and strong competency with SQL, SQLDB designdevelopment including stored procedures, understanding data structures and T-SQL. The role will involve working closely with application development teams and experience of supporting complex business rules for application needs in database is a must. Duties Develop analytical tools and reporting modules Develop business rules in database to supports application requirements. Refine and automate regular processes, track issues, and document changes Assist developers with query tuning and schema refinement Configure and maintain database processes Analyze, solve, and correct issues in real time Provide suggestions for solutions when troubleshooting Provide 24x7 support for critical production systems and perform scheduled maintenance and support release deployment activities after hour as needed Qualifications Minimum EducationCertification Requirements Bachelorrsquos degree in Computer Science or related field. At least 4 years and no more than 8 years of relevant work experience with strong competency with SQL, SQLDB designdevelopment including stored procedures, T-SQL, understanding of data structures and experience with MS SSIS, MS SSRS, ETL processes and working with large datasets. Experience of working in critical production environments that rely heavily on data processes is a must. Programming languages such as StataR will be a plus. Experience of working with business stakeholders to support their data needs.
