Job Title: Cyber Security Team Lead Job Location: Fairfax, VA (Waples Mill) Security Clearance: Active, in-scope US Government issued TS/SCI clearance Due to the nature of the work and US Government required, US Citizenship is required. Job Responsibilities: Trace Systems is actively recruiting for a cleared Cyber Security Team Lead to join our team based in Fairfax, VA (Waples Mill). Duties and responsibilities include: * Provide daily supervision and direction to staff. * Develop and maintain system-level cybersecurity program that includes cybersecurity architecture, requirements, objectives and policies, cybersecurity personnel, and cybersecurity processes and procedures. * Continuously monitor ISs for security-relevant events and configuration changes that negatively affect security posture. * Periodically assess the quality of security controls implementation against performance indicators, such as security incidents, feedback from external inspection agencies, exercises, and operational evaluations. * Coordinate with security managers to ensure issues affecting organization's overall security are addressed. * Primary lead in ensuring the teams' tracking, updating, and building significant bodies of evidence of the various controls in place for the solution. * Establish systems and manage work with various subject matter experts to ensure the Cyber Security Team identifies gaps in the approach and provides effective mitigation strategies and Plans of Actions and Milestones (POA&Ms). * Perform assessments of systems and networks within the networking environment or enclave and identify where those systems and networks deviate from acceptable configurations, enclave policy, or local policy. * Assist in the implementation of the required policy, make recommendations on process tailoring, participate in and document process activities. * Support the formal Assessment and Authorization (A&A) process through pre-test preparations, participation in the tests, analysis of the results and preparation of required reports. * Research new technologies, understand existing processes, and reference recognized standards and frameworks. * Operate effectively and with minimal supervision, within a team or independently, performing special projects and related duties, as assigned. * Interact with internal and external management and senior-level customer representatives concerning projects, operational decisions, scheduling requirements, and/or contractual clarifications. * Provide oversight for the establishment, implementation and adherence to policies and standards that guide and support the terms of the information security strategy. * Provide risk management activities that assure an acceptable level of risk for the organization/project. * Assess, validate, and apply specialized Cyber Security expertise to all stages of the System Development Lifecycle (SDLC). * Assess various operational changes and engineering design changes to determine the impact on the security posture of the solution. Minimum Qualifications: * A minimum of Fifteen (15) years of direct experience in the last 20 years. * Current DoD 8570.01 IAM-III certification. * Detailed knowledge of National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST) and Committee on National Security Systems (CNSS) cyber security requirements and guidance, cyber security related risk management techniques. * Functional knowledge of DoD and Air Force cyber policies and directives. * Experience creating DOD RMF packages and associated work products and managing them through the program lifecycle. * Active, in-scope US Government issued TS/SCI clearance. * Due to the nature of the work and contract requirements, US Citizenship is required. Desired Qualifications: * Excellent written communication skills, with extremely high attention to detail, knowledge of English grammar, and ability to explain complex technical ideas. * Strong oral skills, including the ability to discuss security issues with multiple system stakeholders and security experts. * Ability to communicate effectively and clearly present technical approaches and findings. * Ability to apply technical expertise and have knowledge of other related disciplines. * Familiarity with coalition and multi-national information sharing systems, policies, and environments. * Experience with the National Cross Domain Strategy Office (NCDSMO) authorization process. Education: * Advanced degree in a relevant discipline (eg Computer Science, Computer Information Systems, Network Engineering, Math). Experience may be considered in lieu of degree.
