Job Description Description Job Description: Leidos Military & Veterans Health Solutions currently has an opening for a Software Integration Specialist to work remotely from a home office. This is an exciting opportunity to use your experience helping the Leidos mission. In this mission, we are implementing an Automated Prescription Fulfillment System (APFS) for the Department of Veterans Affairs (VA) at a new Consolidated Mail Outpatient Pharmacy (CMOP) facility in Shawnee, KS, to replace the legacy system currently operating in Leavenworth, KS. As prime contractor, Leidos is working with subcontractor companies to implement (deliver and integrate) a complex, integrated system-of-systems that performs very high-speed (10,000 scripts per hour) prescription filling while meeting all system requirements. The Software Integration Specialist will work with subcontractor companies as well as Leidos systems engineers, integration engineers, and test engineers to design, develop, configure, deliver, integrate, and test the APFS and its ancillary systems from site arrival to System Go-Live and transition to VA for production operations. The Software Integration Specialist will work with subcontractors on this project to fully understand and integrate its pharmacy management / control system application, along with its functions, features, and capabilities, to support the automated prescription fulfillment requirements and functions for the APFS while also supporting requirements and design specifications for integration with back-end VA enterprise IT capabilities. Primary Responsibilities The Software Integration Specialist is responsible for technical coordination, configuration, and development for the day-to-day design, development, configuration, integration, and testing of the hardware and software system architecture to deliver, integrate, test, and operate the APFS system. The Software Integration Specialist will primarily focus on the software integration of COTS applications for real-time pharmacy control systems, order management, and warehouse management with external interfaces for intake of patient orders and supply chain management, enterprise services, and pharmacy automation equipment to comprise one integrated system for automation prescription fulfillment. The Software Integration Specialist's primary duties include: * Develop an in-depth knowledge of the technical platform requirements of each software product in order to troubleshoot problems and employ corrections for each installation. * Support the program team in the design, integration, and certification and accreditation of software applications: COTS, GOTS, and Leidos-developed * In coordination with the subcontractor team engineers and Leidos test engineers, support the development of test plans and procedures that validate all system requirements fulfilled by software applications and electro-mechanical systems combination of integrated hardware-software. Define and automate system readiness checks and regression tests as well as automated test tools appropriate for the integrated applications * Create new procedures and augment existing processes to verify and assess whether software capability is ready to meet VA's requirements prior to deployment. * Integrate, test, and troubleshoot software applications * Develop and maintain engineering documentation and diagrams * Provide recommendations on architecture, COTS configuration, and interface design and development to the Integration Lead Basic Qualifications * Bachelor's degree from an accredited college in Engineering, Computer Science, or related scientific/technical discipline and 5+ years of related work experience. 8 years of additional relevant experience may be considered in lieu of a degree * Ideally 2+ years of experience in the field of industrial process automation similar to CMOP. * Strong understanding of SDLC and best practices for quality assurance testing in software and hardware systems * Experience developing systems in the Microsoft environment using Microsoft's development tools in real time. * Ability to adequately document designs, coded solutions and systems * Write technical specifications and system design documentation * Experience with PKI client and server certificates / two-factor authentication (2FA). * Comfortable with Confluence / JIRA for documentation and ticket tracking. * Understanding of Active Directory. * Understanding of Information Assurance and Certification & Accreditation requirements * Strong verbal and written communication skills * Strong qualitative skills and quantitative skills. * Ability to work independently with minimal supervision * Ability to multi-task * Work well under pressure Preferred Qualifications * Pharmaceutical distribution systems and requirements under FDA regulations * Electro-mechanical systems experience, programmable industrial controls, PLCs, process control * Computer networks, TCP/IP, serial port connections * Experience workin
