An international consulting firm, located in Arlington VA, is seeking a Senior Software Engineer to join their growing agile team. The agile teams develop website products that use data and visualizations designed to improve awareness, availability, access, and capacity. This transforms the way clients collect, analyze, and use data to ensure development outcomes are supported by evidence. As a Senior Software Engineer, you will join a strong team of dedicated IT specialists in the design, development, and deployment of various websites with significant data repositories. They are looking for candidates who have knowledge in developing web applications and also feel comfortable working in a team environment. This is a direct hire position and offers a competitive salary with benefits. Skills & Experience Bachelor's Degree in a technical discipline (preferred in Computer or Information Science or related) Ability to communicate well with stakeholders and non-technical collaborators on future goals, workstreams, and status briefings Hands-on experience developing web applications Strong knowledge of at least one or more programming languages At least three years of demonstrated experience with JavaScript frameworks such as React, jQuery, and Node Two years of experience working with web, micro, and/or ESB services One or more years of experience with relational and non-structured databases Familiarity with federal accessibility guidelines such as 508 Familiarity with search indexing within web applications Familiarity with content management systems such as Drupal Familiarity with public cloud environments such as AWS or Azure What You Will Be Doing Tech Breakdown 50% Front End 50% Back End Daily Responsibilities Participate as Scrum Master for one of the development teams Collaborate with Data Architects and Senior Software Engineers to develop highly interactive web applications based upon the requirements Collaborate to document the application's architecture and design Communicate achievable milestones and technical hurdles to teammates Contribute to the technical architecture and present ideas for improvements Help manage the application DevSecOps pipeline and its components Develop automated testing scripts for use Troubleshoot and debug performance issues within the web applications Follow DevSecOps approval guidelines to integrate and deploy changes to the applications The Offer Competitive Salary: Up to $140,000/hour, DOE You will receive the following benefits: Medical & Dental Insurance Health Savings Account (HSA) 401(k) Paid Sick Time Leave The candidate must be a US citizen to qualify for the required US government security clearance for this project.
