Summary

This position is located in the Office of Strategic Intelligence and Information, Criminal Intelligence Division, National Geospatial Intelligence Branch, Washington D.C.

As Program Manager, the incumbent is the senior Geospatial Intelligence advisor to OSII, and the senior Geospatial Intelligence analyst tasked with enhancing ATF's geospatial intelligence production capabilities.

Responsibilities

  • Serve as subject matter expert (SME) for geospatial intelligence and representative of ATF to current and potential mission partners, companies, and entities.
  • Evaluate ATF's current and evolving state of geospatial intelligence with written reports or communications to ATF managers. Develop a robust geospatial intelligence capability for OSII and Field Offices by advising on the most beneficial architecture, hardware, software, and analyst disposition needed to most successfully optimize geospatial intelligence.
  • Responsible for delivering geospatial methodologies that will enhance analytic tradecraft and provide training and serve as a mentor on these methodologies to analysts.
  • Provide consultation and advice on broad questions involving how to improve geospatial intelligence at ATF. Present new ideas and methodologies to measure and ensure accurate reporting of geospatial intelligence program results, effectiveness and accomplishments.
  • Plan, schedule and carry out projects concerned with geospatial intelligence, analysis and evaluation of programs or organizational effectiveness.


Travel Required

25% or less - Occasional national and international travel may be required. Must be willing to travel to ATF field offices in order to evaluate, mentor, and train analysts on geospatial intelligence.

Qualifications

To qualify for GS-14 candidates must also have at least one year of specialized experience equivalent to the next lower grade level GS-13.

Specialized experience is demonstrated experience, which has equipped the applicant with the particular knowledge, skills and abilities to perform successfully the duties of this position. Experience must be in the normal line of progression or must be related to the work of the position advertised and must be reflected in resume.

Specialized experience is experience which demonstrates expert knowledge of geospatial methodologies and tradecrafts; experience in producing products, training, mentoring and briefing others in all aspects of geospatial intelligence; oral and written communication.
