THE ROLEThis position serves as the primary point of contact with our outside counsel for all litigation related activity as well as monitoring our litigation pipeline including judgments and bankruptcies. Company uses outside counsel for litigation filing and a separate firm for judgment enforcement. The loan agreements have either Virginia or California choice of law and venue, so our filings are concentrated in these two states.* Coordinate decision making on customer legal settlement arrangements - post filing* Prepare litigation "packages" for outside counsel including copies of relevant documents and payment histories* Coordinate requests for out-of-pocket fees and review/approve legal bills* Maintain and update litigation log to manage pipeline and track progress of matters* File proof of claims and monitor status via Pacer* Make recommendations, after coordinating with outside counsel, on procedural issues including settlement negotiations* Ensure internal system of record is updated with current account status* Serve a key member of loan operations teamJob Requirements:* A minimum of 3 years serving in a legal collections capacity* Paralegal certificate a plus, but NOT required (prior work experience is the key factor)* Demonstrated experience handling collection litigation including the interface with outside counsel* Strong knowledge of collections process, language and procedures* Excellent analytical and organizational skills and attention to detail* The ability to perform well in a fast-paced environment while meeting time sensitive deadlines* Strong technical, written and verbal communication skills* Familiarity and comfort working in commercial collections software platform* Proficient in Microsoft applications* Bachelor's Degree preferredPlease apply directly to Patrick Doherty at patrick.doherty@roberthalflegal.comRobert Half Legal matches legal professionals and consultants with remote or on-site jobs on a full-time, project and temporary basis, serving both law firms and corporate legal departments.
