Our Technology Development Program (TDP) is a two-year program based out of our corporate office in Washington DC As a full-time associate in TDP - Software Developer Track, you may gain experience in our Information Services, Systems Operations, Data Science and Internet Business divisions. Job Duties and Responsibilities In the TDP, you will choose to follow one of two tracks Software Developer or IT Analyst. As a TDP - Software Developer, you will will learn the ins and outs of how our multi-billion dollar company is using cutting-edge technologies. You will design, develop and troubleshoot applications to enhance customer experience and improve business efficiency. You will dig deep into coding, creating and refining applications for our customers and associates. You will contribute to significant business initiatives, attend scrum meetings and give presentations. As a TDP - IT Analyst, you will learn the ins and outs of how our multi-billion dollar company uses cutting edge technologies, improves users' online experiences, and develops apps. Throughout the program, you will utilize your technical skills by working on individual and team projects and work with subject matter experts. You will manage projects, develop requirements, analyze business scenarios, write and execute test cases, and partner with the business by communicating effectively with programmers, business analysts, and business customers. After thorough analysis, you'll propose improvements to design solutions and business requirements to optimize internal efficiency and improve both external and internal customer experiences. No matter the track, we'll support your professional and technical development while you gain real, hands-on technical experience. You can take advantage of our in-house GEICO University to learn new technologies, languages, and soft skills. As part of the program, you will also receive mentoring from management to take your knowledge and skills to the next level. Candidate Qualifications Recent bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Information Systems or related majors targeting May 2020, December 2020, and May 2021 graduates Overall cumulative GPA of at least 3.0 Coursework or related experience using Java, .NET, iOS, Android or C languages Strong analytical, problem-solving and communication skills Some related experience or course work in user requirements, web applications, coding reviews and code quality is a plus Well-rounded experiences outside of the classroom with different technologies Demonstrated leadership potential is a plus Ability to work and live in the Washington DC area Please upload your resume and all (undergraduate and graduate, if applicable) unofficial transcripts when submitting your application. Candidates who are selected for this position will be trained remotely and must be able to work from home in a designated work area. Once GEICO determines it is safe for associates to return to the office, candidates may be required to work in our Chevy Chase, MD office.
