Job Description

The Washington Post is looking for a highly motivated marketing coordinator with a proven track record of developing successful marketing campaigns and paid social media campaigns to grow exposure and engagement across Washington Post Live programs. This person will be responsible for implementing digital, print and social campaigns for Post Live programs, tracking ad effectiveness, growing engagement and followers on social platforms and identifying new opportunities for growth. The role requires a strong understanding of social platforms and their paid and organic capabilities (Facebook, Twitter, LinkedIn, YouTube, etc.); the ability to juggle multiple projects and priorities; strong attention to detail and the flexibility and creativity to work with a fast-paced, collaborative team. Washington Post Live produces anywhere from 1-3 virtual programs a day.

Job responsibilities:
  • Develop and implement marketing campaigns for Post Live virtual and in-person events
  • Create and track social campaigns across Facebook, Twitter, YouTube and LinkedIn to increase followers, engagement and time spent with program videos
  • Draft copy including but not limited to ad copy, invites, taglines, etc.
  • Adhere to fast-paced team deadlines
  • Communicate and collaborate regularly with program stakeholders, including but not limited to leadership, designers, news producers and other coordinators
  • Develop marketing best practices and leverage campaign performance data and industry insights to create strategic marketing decisions


Qualifications
  • Proven track record of building successful marketing campaigns across print, digital and social platforms
  • The ability to work collaboratively, prioritize effectively and manage multiple projects in a high-volume, fast-paced environment
  • Outstanding skills in time management, organization and teamwork
  • Strong writing, copyediting and research ability
  • Advanced skill level of Microsoft Office including Excel and PowerPoint, social media ad managers
  • Strong media, marketing, agency, client management or project management background (3+ years)
  • Bachelor's degree from a college or university
