Serves as the Deputy Managing Director for the Administration Division within the Office of the Chief Counsel (AGC) responsible for overseeing the planning and execution of work activities to support efficient and fiscally responsible business operations.

Provides central leadership, direction, and oversight of the day-to-day management and operation of the Office of the Chief Counsel by ensuring a consistent approach to all administrative and program issues throughout AGC organizations. Ensures the work performed is aligned with both long and short-term FAA and AGC plans and objectives; communicates the vision, goals, and objectives of the Chief Counsel, Deputy Chief Counsel, and Managing Director; and establishes priorities that align with those goals.

Applies extensive business knowledge and skill of program/project management principles to provide leadership, direction, and oversight to subordinate staff and to oversee complex management programs and activities that create consistency and standardization within AGC. Serves as the primary authority in all aspects of human capital management and planning, strategic planning, workforce development, acquisitions and contracts, budget management, process improvement, to include projecting short-term and long-term needs and justifying resources.

Applies a detailed knowledge of the technical aspects of the work that is directed, and a comprehensive understanding of the objectives of the major subdivision, the LOB/SO, and the FAA. Also applies a thorough understanding of the principles of management and strategic planning, and the ability to integrate the work of multiple organizational units/projects/programs to successfully accomplish mission objectives. Managerial responsibilities typically affect a substantial number of employees and managers. Managerial duties include the following: develops and executes plans, policies, and programs; sets priorities; assigns work to subordinates; coaches and develops employee capabilities; rates the performance of subordinates; approves leave; and takes, recommends, or approves disciplinary and corrective actions that involve subordinates. Approves substantive personnel actions, such as selections and promotions involving employees.

Defines and organizes staff and work so as to accomplish objectives and meet performance measures, and identifies and evaluates opportunities for operational efficiencies and/or cost savings. Defines, acquires, and allocates budget, staff, and other resources in coordination with the Managing Director. Manages assigned
resources and reallocates resources and workload as necessary to accomplish critical agency and office objectives. Applies the principles of management, strategic planning, and fiscal management to the work of the division. responsible for the efficient management and safeguarding of resources and assures internal controls meet agency standards.

To be creditable, specialized experience must have been at least equivalent to the next lower level in the normal line of progression for the occupation in the organization
