You will serve as the Dean of Academic Programs in the United States Naval Community College (USNCC) of NAVAL COMMUNITY COLLEGE.

Responsibilities

  • You will coordinate, plan, and provide oversight of academic program outcomes and effective delivery of those outcomes.
  • You will Implement essential programs with academic partners, responsible for establishing and implementing academic and administrative processes for USNCC students.
  • You will evaluate institutional research data, make recommendations, and implement changes to continually improve achievement of outcomes.
  • You will coordinate with partner and consortial institutions to oversee academic outcomes, identification of faculty, and learning outcomes of courses taught by partner institutions.
  • You will lead, supervise, guide, mentor, and support the USNCC faculty in the execution of their duties.
  • You will establish academic policies with regards to academic partners and the enrollment processes.
  • You will review and analyze student data collected and transferred from academic partners and relay data to USNCC leadership , the Provost, and the USNCC President.
  • You will attend professional meetings and conferences, both civilian and interagency, as a representative of the USNCC for the purpose of exchanging professional views regarding higher education and military education.

Qualifications

In addition to the Basic Requirements for this position, your resume must also demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-14 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: 1) providing college-level leadership, management, and oversight for academic affairs, including the creation, maintenance, revision, and deletion of curriculum, courses, and programs of study offered, with an emphasis on professional military education and civilian accreditation; 2) overseeing budgets for academic affairs departments, and working closely with with other executive-level personnel on budget planning and the legal requirements governing their development and execution; 3) acquiring, developing, and managing a staff and support resources, including planning, organizing, and delegating work, and implementing and evaluating equal employment opportunity programs.

Applicants must meet the following Basic Requirements of the Office of Personnel Management (OPM) Qualifications Standards Manual: Applicants must possess:
  • Degree: that included or was supplemented by major study in education or in a subject-matter field appropriate to the position.

  • Combination of education and experience -- courses equivalent to a major in education, or in a subject-matter field appropriate to the position, plus appropriate experience or additional course work that provided knowledge comparable to that normally acquired through the successful completion of the 4-year course of study described in A above.
