Summary

You will serve as a TILE & PLATE SETTER in the Installation & Environment Division, Public Works Branch (Facilities Maintenance Section) of MARINE CORPS BASE QUANTICO.

Responsibilities

  • You will install tile on floor and wall surfaces; such as cement, concrete, plaster, metal lath over studs (wood and metal), cinder of hollow tile block and sheetrock.
  • You will prepare surfaces by cleaning area and applying plaster to ensure a level surface.
  • You will repair interior walls, ceilings and stucco exterior walls of all types of backgrounds such as metal, wood, gypsum lath, wallboard masonry surfaces, and repairs/patches plaster and stucco surfaces.
  • You will plan and lay out work and select proper tools.
  • You will follow specific instructions, lays brick/block to construct/repair walls.

  • You will be required to wear personal protective equipment such as helmets, gloves, coveralls, glasses, goggles, respirators and safety shoes continuously for the duration of the work shift.
