Responsibilities

  • You will provide expertise to lead and facilitate the selection and application of Weapons and Tactics (W and T) capabilities at locations worldwide.
  • You will provide risk recommendations to the Cyber Tactical Operations Center (CTOC) Chief for proposed cyber courses of action (COAs).
  • You will perform program analyses to determine readiness indicators, strengths, opportunities, weaknesses, and threats (SWOT) for short and long-term ability to respond to a broad scope of cyber challenges.
  • You will lead continuing assessment of the effectiveness of Cyber Mission Force (CMF) operations to identify and resolve gaps in Weapons and Tactics (W and T) capabilities.
  • You will provide input to briefings, transitioning concepts to execution, and assisting in the coordination of joint operational planning in support of training, exercises, combat, contingency plans and operations.
  • You will adapts tactics, techniques, and procedures (TTPs) to defeat emerging threats.

  • This position is a testing designated position (TDP) in accordance with the Drug Free Federal Workplace Program and subject to random drug testing.

  • This position may require up to 20% travel from normal duty station to CONUS and OCONUS and may include remote or isolated sites. You must be able to travel on military and commercial aircraft for extended periods of time.
  • This position is designated as a Cyber IT/Cybersecurity Workforce position. You must obtain and maintain the credentials as described in SECNAV M-5239.2 for specialty area 332 within 12 months of appointment.


Qualifications

Applicants must have directly applicable experience that demonstrates the possession of knowledge, skills, abilities, and competencies necessary for immediate success in the position. Qualifying experience may have been acquired in any public or private sector job, but will clearly demonstrate past experience in the application of the particular competencies or knowledge, skills and abilities necessary to successfully perform the duties of the position. Such experience is typically in or directly relates to the work of the position to be filled.
Qualifying experience for GG-14 would be demonstrated by:

-Experience using networking/router and Unix operating system fundamentals to review cyber capabilities and techniques submitted for Operational Testing and Evaluation (OT&E) .

-Experience reviewing/assessing operational risk for cyber missions as documented in mission requests on a quick turnaround basis while providing expert advice on how to optimize the use of existing W&T capabilities and assets to address real-time contingencies;

-Experience using incident response and cyber security fundamentals to defeat emerging threats.

-Experience identifying deficiencies and performing program analyses to determine readiness indicators and strengths, opportunities, weaknesses and threats.

The Cyber Interagency Transfer Authority (CITA) permits movement of CES employees appointed under Section 1599f of Title 10 U.S.C. and excepted service employees appointed under Schedule A, Section 213.3106(b)(11) of Title 5 CFR, into cyber workforce positions in the competitive service and movement of competitive service employees into DoD Cyber Workforce positions within the Military Departments and Defense Agencies.
