DCS Corporation is seeking a highly experienced Senior Web Application Developer to develop, maintain and enhance complex database centric web application software in support of U.S. Army scientific research objectives. This position will require familiarity with a broad set of web software development and software engineering skills as well as subject matter experience with ARL's existing software tools. The developer will be responsible for maintaining and extending a set of custom web-based applications written in both PHP and JSP and using SQL to interact with data in MySQL and MariaDB databases. The PHP applications are written using the CakePHP framework so experience with these are required. Portions of the application are also written in JSP for Apache Tomcat and experience with these tools is also required.

Essential Job Functions:

The developer will be responsible for maintaining and extending a set of custom web-based applications written in PHP and using SQL to interact with data in a MySQL database. Portions of the application are also written in JSP for Apache Tomcat and experience with these tools is also required.

The applications will include capabilities for:

Inserting, modifying and deleting data into the database with associated error checking.

Loading externally generated Excel data files into the MySQL database.

Providing process for a variety of needs which in most cases include the uploading of user files and automated generation of PDF documents email notifications providing for review and approvals of a variety of work flows throughout the organization.

Generating a variety of reports for on-screen display and also for on demand Excel file generation.

Generating onscreen graphs.

This position will enhance and extend these capabilities as well as transition capabilities from legacy systems into the current applications.

Required Skills:

Due to the sensitivity of customer related requirements, U.S. Citizenship is required.

High School Diploma and minimum of 25 years of experience.

Minimum 5 years of experience with ARL's MOSS and RMA applications.

Experience with ARL Program Database (ARL PD) software.

Experience with the PHP web development.

Experience with the CakePHP framework.

Proficiency with Java Server Pages (JSP) and Apache Tomcat.

Proficiency with SQL and both MySQL and MariaDB database software.
