As a Sign Language Interpreter for the CIA, you will work alongside and support seasoned intelligence professionals with depth of knowledge in a range of topics, including specific geographic regions, technology, proliferation, and terrorism, among others.

Responsibilities
As a Sign Language Interpreter for the CIA, you will work alongside and support seasoned intelligence professionals with depth of knowledge in a range of topics, including specific geographic regions, technology, proliferation, and terrorism, among others. Due to the variety of positions held by the Agency's Deaf and hard-of-hearing employees, you must be flexible when it comes to assignments, have a diverse vocabulary, and a display a strong commitment to customer service. In addition to providing interpreting services, you will manage interoffice and interagency projects of varying levels of complexity in support of related programs such as reasonable accommodations and corporate accessibility. In the part time position, candidates would work 24 - 32 hours a week.
Foreign and domestic travel may be required.

Requirements
Conditions of Employment
- US citizenship required (dual national US citizens are eligible).
- All positions require relocation to the Washington, DC metropolitan area.
- All applicants must successfully complete a thorough medical and psychological exam, a polygraph interview, and a comprehensive background investigation.
- All applicants must generally not have used illegal drugs within the last twelve months. The issue of illegal drug use prior to twelve months ago is carefully evaluated during the medical and security processing.
Qualifications
Minimum Qualifications:
- Strong signing and voicing skills.
- National sign language interpreter certification.
- Excellent communications and interpersonal skills.
- Excellent customer service skills.
- Broad knowledge of technical and human resource vocabulary.
- Strong understanding of ASL and Deaf culture.
- Ability to work within a changing schedule.
- Ability to work as part of a team.
- Federal reasonable accommodations training or work experience.
- Federal disability program management training or experience.
Education
- National sign language interpreter certification.
