GCOM is looking for candidates, to fill a role of Systems Engineer, to join our Maryland Department of Transportation (MDOT) Team located in Glen Burnie, MD. Key Responsibilities Shall provide input to project plans for current and future needs of the departmental infrastructure. Shall perform systems analysis, design, documentation, implementation of systems and applications. Including planning, acceptance testing, and security for computing platforms and networks. Shall use MDOTrsquos service desk asset management software to manage service, incident and change requests following MDOT standards and procedures. MDOT utilizes IBM MAXIMO for its service desk and asset management software. Shall provide technical cross training as necessary. Shall maintain a life-cycle management program for all hardware and software applications. Shall coordinate capacity planning. Shall analyze and evaluate new and emerging technologiesproducts for their applicability and feasibility. Shall perform KVM switch administration and maintenance (installation, daisy chaining, adding servers). Shall assist in the development of requirementsspecifications for hardware, software, andor services. Shall assist with writing standard operating procedures as they pertain to this role. Shall assist with disaster recovery (planning, documentation, support, drills). Shall respond to outages, physical infrastructure issues and other equipment issues and shall coordinate if required, with other Contractors to resolve any issues in accordance with the requirements of this Task Order. Shall ensure servers are current with firmware, drivers, patches and security updates. Shall coordinate with the Network Operations Center (NOC) monitoring of system operations, security patches, system back-ups, troubleshooting of systems. Shall create and manage network printers and files servers. Shall provide SSL support in certificate management. Shall support and troubleshoot CITRIX Metaframe and newer versions of Citrix such as Presentation Server. Shall configure and document systems and TBU specific applications (following standard processesprocedures as set forth by MDOT and TBU). Shall troubleshoot physical infrastructure issues, server, application, site cabling, workstations and UPSs. Shall perform physical hardware moves (servernetwork equipment). Shall collaborate with and assist other IT and ITS (Intelligent Transportation Systems) areas for support of systemsapplications. Shall provide 247 on call service to respond to emergency situations that may arise. Shall work with the application group on network issues related to Oracle, Java, and various In House software applications. Shall work with DBA on database issues. Shall provide operations and maintenance support. Shall perform miscellaneous application installations and support. Shall perform server, workstation, device and application patching. Shall provide systems and application integration support. Shall perform backups, check backups, monitor jobs, and add jobs on a daily basis. Shall provide Uninterruptible Power Supply (UPS) administration and services. Shall perform UPS battery replacement and configuration. Shall provide administration of Internet Information Services (IIS) 6 and higher. Shall provide occasional Tier 1 Coverage due to absence of IT personnel. Shall respond to outages, physical infrastructure issues and other equipment issues. Shall troubleshoot reported problems. Shall perform routine audits of systems and software. Shall leverage Microsoft Administration tools to manage accounts and policies, such as Active Directory Users and Computers, GPO, etc. Shall monitor and report on system performance, trend analysis and capacity planning. Shall install and configure new hardware and software. Shall assist in the design and integration of systems. Shall work with MDOT personnel on network issues related to software. Shall attend meetings as requested by the respective TBU and MDOT to discuss any pending technical issues concerning a specific assigned project. Shall maintain data and video communication cable and hardware. Shall support load balancing web applications and IIS configurations. Shall manage HP Blade Servers and associated technologies. Shall provide technical training as necessary on all functions of a system. Shall centrally distribute software electronically. Shall support wireless networks. Shall support video conferencing tools, such as Skype for Business Shall create Active Directory printer queues and assign appropriate access ndash HP Platform using HP Management Tools. Shall manage, support, and troubleshoot the Virtual Infrastructure (VMware). Shall manage shared storage technologies, such as NetApp and HP 3PAR Shall be able to demonstrate knowledge of CISCO networking device commands to assist with network configuration and troubleshooting Shall be able to support fiber connectivity and optics within the datacenter Qualifications 5 yearsrsquo experience with installation and support of all facets of Servers, Storage Area Networks, Dell PCs, Panasonic laptops, Dell laptops, stand-alone and networked printers, standalone and networked scanners, modems, jet direct cards. 5 yearsrsquo experience with installation and support of all facets of Microsoft Network Operating Systems to include clustering services, DFS, Management of MS Active Directory policies, objects, login scripts, group policy and profiles. 5 yearsrsquo experience with Standard Software Must be proficient in TCPIP, Microsoft Office Professional, Microsoft Outlook 2007 and later, MS Visio, MS Project, Internet browser (Microsoft Internet Explorer 6.x and higher), Attachmate TN3270 Emulation Software, Adobe Acrobat, Photo Editor (donrsquot think this is necessary), Cisco Entrust nowVPN software and imaging software, MS SQL Server, Web Metrics. 2 years of experience with Syncsort Backup Express 3.1.1, and later (should be Catalogic, DPX) 7 yearsrsquo experience with installation and support of all facets of Microsoft IIS, and Linux for web server support 4 yearsrsquo experience with Installation and support of all facets of IBM NetApp Storage 3 yearsrsquo experience with VMware ESX 5 and later 3 yearsrsquo experience with VMware v Center 2 yearsrsquo experience with Virtual Desktop Infrastructure, Desktop management software 3 yearsrsquo experience with Quest Software (Vizioncore) Virtualization Management (vRanger Pro, vFoglight, vOptimizer Pro, Spotlight). 4 yearsrsquo experience with HP, IBM, and NetApp. Storage Area Networks Configurations, Fabric Switches, creating and configuring LUNS and Zones. 4 yearsrsquo experience with DNS support (adding workstations assigning static IPs, CNAME records). 4 yearsrsquo experience with LAN DESK Management Suite (support to include creation of packages, reporting, and rollout and remote workstation support, desktop image creation). 5 yearsrsquo experience with Linux Red Hat 4 yearsrsquo experience with Utilize SHAVLIK for patch management and McAfee EPO for anti-virus management.
